The official trailer has been released for indie film "Failing Grace", a stylized, obsession thriller in the vain of classics like “Cape Fear” and “The Crush”, with hints of “Fatal Attraction” and “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” peppered in. Released by Concept Media (“Midsummer Nightmares,” “Don’t Fuck in the Woods”), the film is written and directed by studio co-founder Ryan Stacy; produced by Shawn Burkett, Chris Gierowski, and JJ Phillips (author of the indie horror sensation “Parental Bloodshed”).
The film is centered around sisters Maggie (Sarah Curtis) and Grace Novak (Caroline Vineyard), both actress making their film debuts, who are moving on after the brutal murder of their parents at the hands of the former’s estranged lover, Jack Elligott (Josh Miller, “Nothing Good Ever Happens”). Five years after that fateful night, Jack returns after his disappearance and is out for unhinged revenge. Having hid the truth behind Jack’s evil ways, Maggie soon finds all happiness & progress interrupted when this deranged man slithers back into their lives...and the lies meant to protect Grace begin to fail her.
Other cast delivering gripping performances include Marylee Osborne (Betsy, Primordial) as Leona, Jack’s equally crazed sidekick. Stacy Freeders (“Midsummer Nightmares”) returns to the screen as Maggie’s obnoxiously rich gal-pal Joplin O’Toole. Brittany Blanton (“Don’t Fuck in the Woods” & it’s sequel) plays Cara Knoll, Grace’s oversexed friend and (poor) voice of reason. Austin Tarantino (“Scream for Summer”) steals the show as Grace’s potential love interest.
The film is currently making its way around for film festival consideration; a theatrical premiere to be set at a later date.
