Trailer For Low Budget Horror “Bath Salt Zombies”

bath-salt-zombies-poster-2013“Bath Salt Zombies” is an ultra low budget horror flick that plays on the modern phenomenon of crazed attacks back bath salt use but to the level of gore trash awesome. Directed by  Dustin Wayde Mills the Indie flick is scheduled to release on February 19th this year.
Present day, United States... The bath salts epidemic facing the southern and mid-western US has been stifled by an unprecedented government crackdown. Head shops have been raided and shut down, component imports from the UK, India and China have been completely stopped, and aggressive penalties for users have been instated.

This has led to a tremendous amount of surplus stock hidden by black market dealers, and a migration of those dealers (and in turn, users) to the northeast and other areas. In New York City, potent strands have surfaced and have attracted the most devoted bath salt junkies. In an attempt to outsell said strands, a young aspiring chemist has developed and even stronger batch... but something has gone horribly wrong.

The new ultra potent bath salt batch has revealed a major side effect... It turns users into violent flesh seeking "zombies." When the zombies are high on bath salts, they are completely unaware of their actions and they seem to float in and out of consciousness. When they kill / eat people, they are unaware of what has happened when they come down off the drug. The drug is also more addictive than other forms, and users feel the need to stay constantly high due to the fact they become incredibly feeble when sober. They come down HARD.

Psychotic Saturdays! So Psycho Yet So Funny!

005 - Copy[3]

These six films that celebrate the psychotic are also so funny. One of the genres that has came out of the horror world is the sometimes dreaded and sometimes loved spoof movie. A horror-comedy comes in all forms but these six films to help you bring a little crazy into your Saturday are film that embrace the psycho killer in away that is just too damn funny to be scary.

2. Motel Hell (1980)

motel hell“Motel Hell” was a year before “Student Bodies” but even as a parody the film focused on the gory effects of traditional horror films. Farmer Vincent kidnaps unsuspecting travellers and is burying them in his garden. Unfortunately for his victims, they are not dead. He feeds his victims to prepare them for his roadside stand. She was determined to speak with the dead. No one was prepared for the demon whore they found instead. This film is not for those with weak hearts or strong genitals. Gory Image From “Backmask”

Bloody Disgusting produced an image from Marcus Nispel’s next film “Backmask”. The supernatural nightmare is in post production and stars Gage Golightly, Michael Ormsby, Stephen Lang, Kelly Blatz, Brett Dier, Nick Nicotera, Nick Nordella and Brittany Curran. Based on the raw and gritty nature of the image this film should be a real treat as far as special effects go, I could be over estimating. The natural post mortem look to the image shows a very concentrated desire for a realistic feel. I could believe this is a decapitated head or dying victim- very creepy! Below is the synopsis as well image from the film.

During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vintage record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message….and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.

Promo For “Time To Kill” Released

time to killMostly Harmless Pictures has released some promo artwork for their homage to 70’s exploitation cinema. “Time To Kill” is currently in production and is being helmed by Indie directed Brian Williams. It stars Ellie Church, Brigid Macaulay, Jason Hignite and promises a pure throwback to cult classic grindhouse. According to Horror Society the plot is being kept hushed for now but will be those final moments leading up to the last hours of Ellie Church’s character-Sarah’s life.  There isn’t a lot to get excited just yet about the project but 2012 showed me a new appreciation for exploitation films and the dreaded “torture-porn” cinema ( I hate that term, not the genre) and as always the heart of Horror lies in Independent companies that deserve more love!
