Synopsis: “In 2012,the deceased have risen from their graves with only one instinct-to feed on the living. As academics speculate on the scientific cause of the phenomena, theologians point to the Armageddon foretold in the Book of Revelation. As the cities are over run and civilization crumbles, a family take refuge from the undead army in an isolated farmhouse in West Wales. But the greatest threat is already among them.”
Directed by James Plumb and written by Plumb and Andrew Jones. The film begins shooting this September 24th in Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Cardiff in South Wales, UK.
My gut rotting reaction is “why”! There have been countless revisions of the Romero classic and instinctively I question why anyone would want to embarrass themselves by producing another run of the mill rip off of the film. However, this it’s the Brits and they are well known for having a unforeseen twist on classic films and there imagination capability sometimes seems to surpass Hollywood. I mean why else would it seem that American media seems to rip off every British movie and tele concept that scores big with audiences. Anyway, I am actually looking forward to the end result on this film. Maybe they will saturate it with absurd and extreme apocalyptic social paranoia and mental superstitious overload – like a southern televangelist at a weekend youth revival…
