Tons Of New Images Released For “Blood Widow”

“Blood Widow” hits DVD, Redbox and VOD on June 3rd, 2014 and to get fans ready, Midnight Releasing has released some new stills from the film. “Blood Widow” is directed by Jeremiah Buckhalt and is described as a bloody, creepy cocktail that blends the  wickedness of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” with the dark, macabre seasoning of “Candyman”, introducing us to horror's next major slasher icon. This nightmare stars Danielle Lilley, Brandon Kyle Peters, Christopher de Padua, Jose Miguel Vasquez, and Kelly Kilgore.

After buying a nice house in the country, Laurie and Hugh, a successful young couple, throw a party for their friends. During the wild night a few friends decide to explore the abandoned and decaying boarding school next door, only to wake an emotionally broken killer: The Blood Widow. Rob Zombie Releases Teaser Trailer For New Film "31"

Rob Zombie has released the teaser trailer for his new horror project, "31" on his website. Almost nothing is known about the film but in a recent interview Zombie stated “…it's something fans of the other stuff will like. Probably fans of The Devil's Rejects will enjoy the most. It's not connected to that film but it's more on that headspace". Check out the teaser below along with the first teaser poster.

Teaser Trailer Released For “Treehouse”

A teaser trailer has been released for upcoming horror “Treehouse”. The film is directed by Michael Bartlett and stars J. Michael Trautmann, Dana Melanie, Clint James Darren Kennedy, Chance Nichols, and Shannon Knopke.

The story for Treehouse focuses on missing teenagers and unknown shadows in the local Missouri woods. A brother and sister are kidnapped and two brothers find one of the victims, Elizabeth. Elizabeth is alone and afraid, in an isolated fort; several shadows lurk below. All three classmates will have to face an unimaginable evil, if they are to survive the night.

First Trailer For “Fièvre/Horsehead” Released

The first trailer has been released for chimeric horror feature “Fievre/Horsehead”. The film is directed by Romain Bassett and stars Catriona MacColl, Murray Head, Lilly-Fleur Pointeaux, Vernon Dobtcheff, Fu'ad Ait Aattou, Gala Besson, Joe Sheridan, Emmanuel Bonami, Philippe Nahon. “Horsehead” will be screened for buyers at the Cannes International Film Market on May 16th and 18th by international sales representative Reel Suspects. Horsehead will be released in France in the fall of 2014.

Since childhood, Jessica has been haunted by recurring nightmares in which she is chased by a mysterious horse-headed monster called Horsehead. In the hope to find peace at last, Jessica has started studying Psychophysiology of Dreams.

Following the death of her grand-mother, Jessica reluctantly returns to the family home for the funeral. Upon her arrival, she finds out that the dead body of her ancestor is lying in the room next to hers for the duration of the wake...

Sci-fi/Comedy “A Man Called Nereus” Available On Demand

“A Man Called Nereus” is a micro-budget sci-fi,/comedy that is gaining quite the cult following. The film is directed by Nathan Hill who also wrote the screenplay for the film that tackles time travel with a bit of dark humor, “nerd” action which collides with some new age crime-action. “A Man Called Nereus” stars Seth Gandrud, Orchid Tao, David C. Hayes, Joe Ricci and is currently available on demand at iTunes, and Amazon. The film is the debut feature for Nathan Hill.

Nereus is an autistic man who is being held captive by the Filaria crime family due to his unique ability to predict the exact outcome of sporting events through time travel. This all changes the moment he is kidnapped by a junkie who plans to take him to Las Vegas. Now on the run, the two must weave through madmen, corrupt law enforcement and new-age terrorists.

My Review Of “Rigor Mortis”

“Rigor Mortis” is Hong Kong’s call-back to new resurgence of horror/fantasy. Billed as a feature film inspired by a popular the popular Vampire films of the 80’s. this movie gives us a dark, wondrous nightmare. Starring Anthony Chan, Siu-Ho Chin, Kara Hui, Hoi-Pang Lo, Richard Ng, and Hee Ching Paw. The plot revolves around an ex actor on a downward spiral, longing for death, who moves into an apartment tower where realm of supernatural and humanity are entwined.

“Rigor Mortis” offers a fantastical fantasy world of horror, drama and Hong Kong action. The story is multi-layered with lives tangled in a hellish fate. There are elements of melodrama and gore that move in a wonderful ballet of emotion and carnage. I feel that the story works as a modern retelling of some ancient Chinese fable, the concepts and character development seem so complex and powerful that it just screams of morality wisdom from the past. Either way it is a tale that embraces both the old supernatural beliefs and contemporary style that proves Hong Kong’s dominance over this blended fantasy/horror genre.

The special effects and soundtrack utilized in “Rigor Mortis” is top notch. The sounds are creepy, often creating a dark atmosphere of desperation scene after scene. The sets where depressing, lifeless tombs of fading lives that would send chills up Takashi Shimizu and Clive Barker’s backs. “Rigor Mortis” uses some pretty spectacular CGI and practical effects for the fantasy and horror elements. Epic visual moments weave into the film in true whimsical opulence while the blood soaked gore combined with the chilling horror scenes create a nightmare fantasy that captivates and entertains. Just based on “Rigor Mortis” as an independent entity untethered from it’s inspiration, homages and such I found this to be one of the best horror/fantasy films that I have ever seen. “Rigor Mortis” is Juno Mak’s masterpiece and a must see film!

Release Date Set For “I’ll Follow You Down”

A release date has been set for time travel film “I’ll Follow You Down”. The film is directed by Richie Mehta and stars Gillian Anderson, Haley Joel Osment, Rufus Sewell, Victor Garber. It will hit limited theatrical release along with VOD on June 6th, 2014.

An accomplished physicist mysteriously disappears on a business trip. Abandoned, his wife and son struggle to cope. Years later, now a young scientist himself, Erol uncovers papers, formulas, a machine, and a mind-bending possibility. But time travel is impossible. Isn't it?


Erol's obsession to find his father and restore his family will throw him into the unknown and possibly threaten his life. What would you do to repair the past?

My Review Of “Bread Crumbs” 2011

“Bread Crumbs” is a 2011 horror that goes for broke in an attempt to combine a disturbing horror plot with a classic, often overlooked, disturbing didactic, fairytale of two children left tend to the elements, deep in the woods. “Bread Crumbs”  is directed by Mike Nichols and stars Kristina Klebe, Dan Shaked, Marianne Hagan, Zoe Sloane, Alana Curry, Douglas Nyback, Shira Weitz, Steve Carey, and Mike Nichols. The plot follows a porn crew and cast into the woods to shoot a movie. Unfortunately there is a twisted brother, sister duo using the area as their personal killing field.

The story is pretty cool with a basic principle of setting the characters up for a kill scene which for the most part work without seeming contrived. The drama and action begin almost instantly and manage to keep a steady, straight forward pace through most of the movie without becoming exhausting. The porn set concept brings plenty of flesh to the screen but in the most censored, conservative manner. Nothing really explicit here (by my standards anyway). However, it is obvious that entwining the “Hansel & Gretel” aspect to the story is very much contrived, playing out more like a bit of stretched, nonsensical moments of weak dialog meant to bring the viewer to the breadcrumbs “table”. Still the kids are so damn dark and disturbing that it manages to pull off a good concept in a, “middle-of-the-road, mediocre way, but it does get there.

The soundtrack and special effects in “Bread Crumbs” really make the film enjoyable for me personally. I can forgive weak dialog, loose story arcs” as long as the effects and sound track hold me to the story and drama unfolding on screen. Nichols does a pretty good job tying it all in to make a fun, standard horror mythos in “Bread Crumbs” with eerie sounds, and a strong attention to practical effects and blood consistency. The film doesn’t give us a new look at horror or bring something extraordinary to the genre but it is an entertaining, modern classic that stays true to the roots of the genre. It gave me that 80’s feel that I only get with a certain type of horror movie story, I dug the homicidal brother and sister and the unfinished ending is beyond retro! (That is a good thing cause retro is candy for me!)

Crowd Funding Started For Season 2 Of “Once Upon A Time In The 70’s”

One of the cool and grooviest webseries to come along is “Once Upon A Time In The 70’s” and much like those other popular shows that start with “Once Upon A Time…” this series too manages to create a blend of fantasy, sci-fi, and funk in a cool unapologetic, campy, low budget style. Season two has kicked off crowd funding over on Kickstarter and season one is available on blip.tv.

The series is the creation of Kill Vampire Lincoln Productions, directed by Chris Lukeman and stars Jonathan Harden, Maggie Gottlieb, Thomas Nicol, Stephanie Swearingen, Matt Fear, Bill Kephart, Ben Juday. Science, adventure, love, disco, and ROBOTS! In the probably-alternate 1970s, an ominous portal hangs in the sky and killer robots live among us. Scientist heroes fight evil with rayguns and disco in this transistorpunk sci-fi adventure.

Tonight Is The Scorpio Moon Also Considered The Flower Moon

Paganism is a new spiritual exploration for me. All the spiritual and mystical elements at play call to me. They always have in some for throughout my life. I now explore unconstrained pagan beliefs much as the ancient Romans expressed their spirituality. I like the free flowing, non-uniformed way of embracing my pagan nature.

Anyway the moon cycles, ancient festivals, and the many deities’ days of worship are wonderful ways to connect on so many levels. Most of my inspiration comes from well established and learned members of the Pagan community. Mystic Mamma is one of those. Pagan Festival Shout Out: Mercuralia “Festival To Mercury”

Blessed days embrace us during these Ides Of May! May 15th is the Mercuralia! It is known as the festival to Mercury, probably one of the sexiest deities from our ancient heritage of worship. Basically the holiday is more a celebration that merchants honor for blessed commerce. the merchants of Rome would use laurel boughs to sprinkle their merchandise, their ships, and their heads with water from a fountain at Porta Capena known as aqua Mercurii.

Mercury, was a Roman messenger god whose attributes were mainly borrowed from the Greek god Hermes although there are myths regarding Mercury that are distinctly Roman. He was a god of trade, thieves, and travel. The name is closely related to merx, mercari, and merces which respectively mean merchandise, to trade, and wages. For good luck, on the Ides of May (May 15th) which was considered his birthday,

They also offered prayers to Mercury for forgiveness of past and future perjuries, for profit, and the continued ability to cheat customers! So really this is a day that thieving merchants would haggle customers with inflated prices in order to get the most coins from badgered buyers. It would translate today as a “shopping holiday”. Tomorrow go out and by a little something-something on the cheap to get the best deal from the shady ass shop keepers-look for the sales! Also the day draws from the well of luck, and blessings, not to mention honoring Mercury. Place some coins on your alter, light your candles for luck and dab a bit of blessed water in the sign of protection. I plan to place the blessed water on the 5 points of my body- head, hands, feet while asking Mercury for blessings on this, his birthday!

New “Family Affair” Shot Official Poster Released For “What We Do In The Shadows”

The official poster has come out for “What We Do In The Shadows” horror/comedy. The family affair image is so very Addams Family, Modern Gothic and I am diggin’ it! Between the images and the trailer that came out for the film I jonesin’ to see this joint! Just think how cool it would be if they spin off into a mock reality series!

When Stu’s life is threatened, the vamps show us that maybe humans are worth fighting for, and that even though your heart may be cold and dead, it doesn’t mean you can’t feel anything.

  

First Poster Revealed For “Cloudland”

Check out the first poster for Alex Bram’s “Cloudland”. The horror film was penned by modern horror icon Jeffrey Reddick and stars Drew Fuller, Adi Shankar, Katie Parker, along side  Mischa Barton. “Cloudland” . Special effects for the project will be handled by the “Evil Dead” remake team PRPVFX.

"“Cloudland” follows an investigative reporter on the heels of a cult’s prophecy following the murder of his young sister, which may be paranormal in nature.

Trailer Released For “Rigor Mortis”

Gravitas Ventures have acquired North American distribution rights to apocalyptic horror “The Last Light” . The film will be released on VOD and iTunes in June and stars Ed Quinn (Eureka), Edward Furlong (American History X), Jeff Fahey (Planet Terror), Tahyna Tozzi (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Molly Hagan (Election), and Yvonne Zima (Iron Man 3).  “The Last Light” is directed by Andrew Hyatt (The Frozen).

Indie Horror “Don’t Look” In Production

Independent British horror film “Don’t Look” has gone into production after a successful crowd funding campaign on Kickstarter. Directed byBryan Killay and starring Bella Plotkin, Lindsay DiFulvio, Luciana Faulhaber, Javier E. Gomez, “Don’t Look” is the story of five friends, an inherited farm, a secret past, and a bloody wrath, is being filmed on location on a 100-acre farm in Robeson Township, Pennsylvania. Been awhile since I added to the Horror movie classic archive. “The Amazing Mr. X” is one of those wonderful classic noir films that is public domain. The film was released in 1949 and directed by Bernard Vorhaus. “The Amazing Mr. X” stars Lynn Bari, Richard Carlson, Turhan Bey and Cathy O'Donnell.

Two years after her husband's death, Christine Faber (Lynn Bari) thinks she hears her late husband (Richard Carlson) calling out of the surf on the beach one night. She meets a tall dark man (Turhan Bey) who seems to know all about her. After more ghostly manifestations, Christine and her younger sister (Cathy O'Donnell) become enmeshed in the strange life of Alexis; but he in turn finds himself manipulated into deeper cruelness than he had in mind.

The sales trailer for upcoming horror anthology (which is the third in a very successful series) “V/H/S Viral”  has been released. Deadline has reported that the exclusive along with word of the film’s Cannes Film Festival showing.

Teaser Trailer Released For “Threshold”

The first teaser trailer has been released for horror film “Threshold” The film is written and set to be directed by Tom Paton and due out in 2015. “Threshold” is set in the midlands town of Walsall, THRESHOLD is the story of one woman's struggle to escape her home town and create a better life for her and her son. The teaser is set in the same universe as the feature film, introducing a new character and sets the tone for the main event.

Jenny Miller had always just accepted her lot in life. That is until her aggressive boyfriend Steve accidentally kills her best friend Sarah in a bar fight. Trailer Released For “Raven’s Cabin”

The first trailer has been released for thriller “Raven’s Cabin”. The Aussie flick is directed by Loren Johnson and stars Andrea Burdett, Luke Ledger,  Pia Prendiville. “Raven’s Cabin” made its debut at Monster Fest in Perth, Western Australia. This should be an interesting film, one thing Aussies are good at are dramatic thrillers.

Bound, gagged and blindfolded, several teens are grabbed in the middle of the night and taken to Redback, a youth behavior modification facility deep in the Australian bush. They're completely cut off from the rest of the world; isolated and tested in the unforgiving camp. Rumors travel through the camp that a few years earlier a girl reportedly hanged herself. But that's just a rumor. Only the dead girl and her murderer know the truth and the dead don't talk... unless they find someone who can hear them.

Needless to say, it won’t take long until a lot of very peculiar incidents start taking place; odd Pagan rituals, chateau hosts very far from the ordinary, people slowly going off the deep and end one by one – and most importantly: bloody murder – VERY bloody murder, in fact, offering real suspense that can almost be described as a classic game of whodunit with a lot of twists and turns!

The official trailer has been released for FOX’s 2015 series ‘Wayward Pines’. The series is adapted from the best-selling novel by Blake Crouch . It is brought to life by twisted storyteller M. Night Shyamalan. The series was developed for television by Chad Hodge ("The Playboy Club," "Runaway") and executive-produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Donald De Line ("Green Lantern," "The Italian Job"), Hodge and Ashwin Rajan ("After Earth," "Devil"). Hodge wrote and Shyamalan directed the premiere episode. Imagine the perfect American town... beautiful homes, manicured lawns, children playing safely in the streets. Now imagine never being able to leave. You have no communication with the outside world. You think you're going insane. You must be in Wayward Pines.

New Poster For Creature Feature “Indigenous”

A new poster has been released for Alastair Orr’s found footage, creature feature “Indigenous”. The film stars Pierson Fode, Lindsey McKeon, Sofia Pernas, and Jaime Anderson.

A group of five young friends travel from Los Angeles to exotic Panama for a week of partying in lush tropical paradise. Befriending a beautiful local woman in their hotel bar, they learn of a secret jungle hike to a pristine waterfall nearby. The woman cautions them strongly against the hike, warning that other gringos in search of the legendary waterfall had mysteriously disappeared into the jungle, never to be seen or heard from again.

Ignoring her warnings, the group convinces the woman to guide them to the picturesque waterfall, thinking that they have nothing to fear with a local as their guide. What begins as a fun outing quickly turns terrifying when their guide mysteriously vanishes after a romantic tryst at the falls. As night closes in, the friends realize too late the truth behind her warnings— horrific, bloodthirsty, flesh-eating creatures are now stalking them. The mangled survivors rush to jungle caves for shelter, only to realize they’ve entered the monsters’ lair!

New Artwork Released For “Krampus: The Christmas Devil”

Check out the new poster artwork released for Jason Hull’s “Krampus: The Christmas Devil”. The promo work is for the film’s presentation at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and comes out with word of pre-production gearing up for the sequel. The second installment has a working title of “Krampus: The Devil Returns”. “Krampus: The Christmas Devil” stars Bill Oberst Jr.(Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies, Children of Sorrow), Rich Goteri (Machine Gun Preacher, Circus of Dread, Goodfellas), AJ Leslie (The Four), Mike Mili (Demon Equation), Jay Dobyns, Erica Soto (Post-Mortem), Annette Lawless, and Brad Weaver (Chasing Darkness) as the Krampus.


Krampus: The Christmas Devil is based on actual mythology dating back to 17th century Alpine/Eastern European lore. Krampus is Saint Nick’s evil brother. However, unlike St. Nick, Krampus brings wrath on children who misbehave. This story follows the life of Jeremy, who escapes the monster as a child, and grows up to become a police officer working to find missing children, only to stumble upon the monster again as an adult. Jeremy learns that the monster is after his daughter, but the plot thickens as Bill Oberst’s character, Brian Hatt, is recently released from prison and is now set on revenge with Jeremy.

Krampus has won Runner-up best horror film at both the 2013 Cleveland Indie Gathering and the prestigious Action On Film Festival in Monrovia, Ca. It is also an official selection in the 2014 Fantastic Horror Film Fest. The film has not yet had a bad review, with matchflick.com giving it 4/5 stars and saying “This one’s for you,” searchmytrash.com saying it’s “enjoyably eccentric,” and a “well paced directorial effort,” “the making of a cult classic” says Guestars, and Dolls of Despair saying “it’s a must see.” It was also named #15/20 on morehorror.com’s “top 20 horror films of 2013.”

Crowd Funding For Paranormal Thriller “The Rectory”

Crowd funding has begun on indie, paranormal thriller “The Rectory”. The film is set in 1937 England with principle photography is set to start in Los Angeles and England in the fall of 2014. “The Rectory” is written and directed by Jonathan Chance and set to star Crispian Belfrage, Jason Vail, David Hogan and Angela DiMarco. The campaign is set up over on Indiegogo.com so head over and check out the perks for funding support.

Trailer Arrives For Sci-fi “The First”

A trailer has arrived for sci-fi, thriller “The First”. The film comes from Spanish director Jacobo Rispa and stars  Vivi Pineda, Eva Tamargo, Manuel Uriza, Chaz Mena, Anthony Guzman and Joss Waleska.
On the day she is dismissed from service for accidentally killing an innocent suspect in the line of duty, Vancouver detective Sara Gonzalez receives a phone call from her father. Her younger sister Elena is missing after a car accident.

Sara returns to her native island in Latin America to look for her missing sister. But things in the island community are not quite the same anymore as they were when she used to live there. People around her start to act strangely, and Sara doesn’t know whom to believe anymore. Soon she finds herself having to decide whether to save her family, or to stop a suspected alien invasion.

The First Trailer Lands For NBC’s ‘Constantine’

Check out the first trailer for NBC’s adaptation of ‘Constantine’. The series debuts this fall on Fridays. I am kinda on the fence about the show. I plan to watch and pray it isn’t a train wreak like ‘Dracula’. Writer Daniel Cerone (“The Mentalist,” “Dexter”) serves as executive producer with David S. Goyer (“Man of Steel,” “The Dark Knight Rises”). “Constantine” is produced from Bonanza Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The show is based upon characters published by DC Entertainment. The cast also includes Harold Perrineau and Charles Halford.

Based on the wildly popular DC Comics series “Hellblazer,” seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan, “Criminal Minds”) specializes in giving hell… hell. Armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and his wickedly naughty wit, he fights the good fight — or at least he did. Crowd Funding Started For “Beacon Point”

Blue Lantern Films has kicked off a crowd funding campaign for “Beacon Point” . The feature film is being filmed in Georgia and is 80% complete. The team are looking toward crowd funding to finish the film with nearly 10,000 dollars funded within the first week of the campaign. “Beacon Point” is directed by Eric Blue and stars Rachel Marie Lewis, Jon Briddell, Eric Goins, Jason Burkey, RJ Shearer. The film has set up shop over on Kickstarter with some pretty nice perks so check it out.

“Beacon Point” is about a group of hikers on a 10 day hike of the Appalachian Trail. The group hikes deeper into the Great Smoky Mountains, and soon realize they are lost. Things start to go from bad to worse. They stumble across an ancient secret, the shadow people, that threatens their survival.
