Are you ready for a little more bite in your 3D experience. No I don’t mean Piranha's or Vamps. This time we are talking about something a little different than your average creature feature. Check out the poster for new horror flick with a killer since of humor. “Chompers 3D” is coming our way! Directed by Jesse Blanchard. Read about this new flick below.
The Creature – Chompers is a shape-changing predator that disguises itself as something round waiting for a victim to slide an appendage inside its mouth. In the wild, it took the shape of hollowed out logs and stumps. In suburbia, its found trashcans, cookies jars, coffee cups, & so much more.
The Hero – Brooklyn is smart, but that’s about all she has going for her. Her skin is not good, she’s overweight, and she has glasses as thick as coke bottles. but she is about the only person that will survive the movie and it’s not because of her luck.
The Puppets – The people are real. The creature is real. The blood and guts are real. They just happen to be puppets. We’re using puppets because this is the best tool to tell the story. We’ll be able to pack so much more into the movie with this method. It will create a better environment to hide the monster in. We will not have any restriction on what happens to the main characters. And we can build exactly the characters and the world we have in mind. We’re using puppets to make a better movie.
3D – Writer/Director Jesse Blanchard has designed and patented his own 3D camera system. His first stereoscopic 3D short Shine took home the Best of Festival Award from the Los Angeles 3D Film Festival. More info of the camera system at

Jesse Blanchard – Writer/Director Blanchard has made over 50 shorts before stepping into his first feature. Those shorts have been picked up by George Romero and Dimension Films, praised by Neil LaBute (Nurse Betty, The Wicker Man) and Drew Barrymore (E.T. Never Been Kissed), and screened around the world at
festivals from New York to Cannes.
Says Blanchard “The puppets are no more a gimmick than Kermit the Frog. These are real people that are going through one hell-of-a-time with Chompers…they just happen to be puppets. Furthermore, most of my favorite
horror films – aliens, dead alive, evil dead, the thing, etc – use puppets. This just takes it one step further.”
