Chiller’s / Steve Nile’s ‘Remains’ Soon!

I feel all warm and tingly in my privates! Now that ‘The Walking Dead’ is on mid season hiatus I can feel my need for the undead with this show! Cause the gods no how I like me some undead carnage on my nightly programming schedule! So thankfully just in time for the Christmas kick off (Dec. 16th) o.k. a late kick off! I will have something to go along with my christmas themed classic toons as well as my holiday horror movies.
Based on the graphic novel series by Steve Niles and based in Reno Nevada this story has a different take on the whole zombie apocalypse beginnings. Well it at least takes place in a new location that frankly could use a little spotlight on it these days!

Grahame-Smith+The Nativity= One “Unholy Night”!

The guy who twisted the tale of Abraham Lincoln to include vampire slaying, and who envisioned a world where people sip tea and eat biscuits while fighting zombies has now created a world where action and adventure is abound for the three wise men on their way to see baby jesus!
Warner Bros. has recently acquired Seth Graham-Smith’s “Unholy Night” book due out April 20th 2012 for 2 million to turn into a big screen adaptation.
“From the author of the New York Times bestselling Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, comes UNHOLY NIGHT, the next evolution in dark historical revisionism.
They're an iconic part of history's most celebrated birth. But what do we really know about the Three Kings of the Nativity, besides the fact that they followed a star to Bethlehem bearing strange gifts? The Bible has little to say about this enigmatic trio. But leave it to Seth Grahame-Smith, the brilliant and twisted mind behind Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to take a little mystery, bend a little history, and weave an epic tale.
In Grahame-Smith's telling, the so-called "Three Wise Men" are infamous thieves, led by the dark, murderous Balthazar. After a daring escape from Herod's prison, they stumble upon the famous manger and its newborn king. The last thing Balthazar needs is to be slowed down by young Joseph, Mary and their infant. But when Herod's men begin to slaughter the first born in Judea, he has no choice but to help them escape to Egypt.
It's the beginning of an adventure that will see them fight the last magical creatures of the Old Testament; cross paths with biblical figures like Pontius Pilate and John the Baptist; and finally deliver them to Egypt. It may just be the greatest story never told.”

It’s a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean’s new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

New puzzle box “The Cabin In The Woods” Poster

I am gonna throw out a wild guess and say that this movie is gonna be like a convergence of “The Cube” “In The Mouth Of Madness” and “Hellraiser”. Something like a dimensional rift that literally brings levels of Hell to Earth, within this cabin in the woods…Could be wrong, and probably am. That is just what jumps out at me when I see this poster! Anyway the film will rock because it is Joss Whedon!
Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, a mind-blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out.

More details on “Starship Troopers: Invasion”

Today the “Starship Troopers” movie blog site released some non spoiling details on the new cg heavy installation of the “Starship Troopers” franchise “Invasion” film.
Details' as follows from the site:
Story & Script
“So I can’t completely spoil the story/details yet but I would like to share the process we went through.
We got together with the producers and production executives as well as the director to discuss various ideas for the story. In the course of discussion, a heated debate broke out on how the bugs are able to travel. They can obviously walk; some can fly…but with wings…and thus not likely to be able to fly through space. The bugs in the novel had advanced technology, but the ones in the previous films were fairly unsophisticated. As we were already inclined to position this new film to be in line with the universe of the live action adaptation, we knew we couldn’t have the bugs build any sort of ship capable of interstellar travel. The first movie showed them sending the meteor to earth that destroyed New Buenos Aires, but the bugs were not on that meteor. I cannot reveal our direction yet but please feel free to use your imagination on how a bug can travel through space. In any case, we figured it out and the story developed organically from there.
Starship Troopers is based on the novel by Robert A Heinlein and it was then adapted to live action movies with Ed Neumeier’s scripts. This time out, we wanted to go fresh and not replicate either the novel or the previous live action films. We functionally asked ourselves who we were making the film for – who loves vast space battles, vicious hand-to-hand, dazzling CG, and a character-driven, military-based story arc? Basically anyone that’s playing the current popular console video games. To me, the battle scenes from the first Starship Troopers movie felt like a team death match from an FPS game and that vibe definitely carried forward to the development of this film. Lots of action, lots of collaboration between soldiers with specialized skill sets. We were discussing writers and Joseph suggested a great writer who has worked on some of the Sci-Fi action games, Mr. Flint Dille.
Flint looks like Thor: big dude with a thick reddish beard, hearty laugh, and very deep voice. But he talks like a kid who has been on the PS3 the whole day (in fact, he left early from a meeting with the excuse that he had to go pick up his son to try a new war-action FPS game that shall not be named here). We fell in love with his cool ways (not just as a screenwriter but all he does) and we started working together on the script. Joseph and I were driving the base story structure and Flint was formulating and injecting great sequences of human drama and camaraderie as well as the gritty action – all with the wit and sarcasm that made Starship Troopers so popular.
Now, maybe that’s enough of my B.S. and I should at least give you a sneak peek?
There is a Federation outpost named Fort Casey that will appear at the beginning of the movie on an asteroid near a planet being attacked by the bugs. The name of the fort is homage to our executive producer Ed Neumeier and his son. And, here is a preliminary sketch of the fort’s design. Enjoy !
Stay tuned for more fun back stories and sneak peeks to come!”

“The Wicker Tree” Trailer

Based on the trailer “The Wicker Tree” promises to be more intriguing and more watchable than “The Wicker Man” which for me seemed more of a chore trying to get through than actual entertainment.  Nothing like virgins, religion, and disturbed delusional self righteousness to really scare the hell out of us sinners!
Gospel singer Beth and her cowboy friend Steve, two virgins promised to each other, set off from Texas to enlighten the Scottish heathens in the ways of Christ. When they are welcomed with joy and elation to the village of Tressock, the border fiefdom of Sir Lachlan Morrison, they assume their hosts simply want to hear more about Jesus. Beguiled by beautiful, sexy Celtic music, in counterpoint to the bluegrass hymns Beth sings to them, she is elected Queen of the May. Meanwhile an increasingly doubtful Steve becomes her consort, destined to be hunted on horseback by the whole community in a ritual he believes to be an innocent race. Neither of them realize that these honors are being heaped upon them for a purpose that will lead them to a terrifying split end...

“John Carter” Trailer looks Epic

Based on a classic sci-fi novel by master author Edgar Rice Buroughs. “John Carter” has gone on to gain cult fame through graphic novels with such titles as ‘John Carter of Mars’ and ‘John Carter Warlord of Mars'. Now he plans to conquer Earth audiences in the Disney adaptation simply titled“John Carter”.
The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

The Viral Outbreak Is Coming February On DVD

Image is going to release “Rabies” on DVD in February!
A psychotic serial killer on the loose in the woods crosses paths with a group of unsuspecting teenagers, and soon people are dying one by one. It's a popular horror premise, but mobilized in a refreshingly novel iteration by first-time filmmakers Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado. Among a brother and sister with a dark secret, a kindly forest ranger and his old dog, and four tennis players waylaid by a pair of unhinged local cops, misunderstandings and fear pull Rabies' protagonists inexorably deeper into the infectious, indiscriminate violence foreshadowed in the film's title.

“American Scream King” Out Jan. 3rd From Midnight Releasing.

When a bookie receives a video camera as payment for a gambling debt his friend talks him into making a movie. They decide to make a horror movie. Horror movies, they reason, are the only type of film that can have bad acting, bad camera work, half the time the god damn boom mic is sticking into the shot, yet these crappy films still sell. There’s only one problem, the guys don’t know anything about special effects, make up, or fake blood. They decide that there is only one good way to make a horror movie: just lock a bunch of girls up in the basement and kill them one by one. They lure girls to their apartment by posting audition notices for the “movie” Scream King on the internet. When the girls come over they give them fake audition pieces to read, and they ask them to take their tops off. If the girl refuses to take off her top then they let her go free. If the girl goes topless then they cast her. If they cast her, they will kill her! Once the girls are cast they find themselves locked in the basement, waiting for their scenes to start. After being left alone, chained up, for 12 hours over devil’s night they begin to understand that they are in real trouble! On Halloween day the boys enter the dungeon and let the girls know the bad news 1) There is no movie and 2) Many of them are going to die. Throughout the day the guys play a series of sick mind games. The girls who pass are set free; the ones who fail are brutally murdered! Everything is going according to plan, until the boys release that they need a good act three twist if they’re ever going to be able to sell their film. Next thing they know the boys are on the receiving end of their own twisted games – fighting for their very lives!
