The film is directed by Mitchell Altieri – one half of the Butcher Brothers (The Hamiltons, The Thompsons) – and written by Kevin Artigue & Joe Egender, Altieri, and Phil Flores (the other half of the Butcher Brothers). XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon announced the deal today.

Their search leads them to the Church of One Accord and the enigmatic snake-handling preacher Brother Billy (Joe Egender), whose devoted congregation of outcasts knowingly risk injury or death seeking salvation in the Holy Ghost. What Wayne and Charlotte uncover during their time on the mountain – about themselves and the nature of faith – will shake them to their core, as the mystery of Charlotte’s sister and her fate unravels.
HOLY GHOST PEOPLE was produced by Jeffrey Allard, Phil Flores & Mitchell Altieri, and Joe Egender & Kevin Artigue and executive produced by L.C. Nussbeck. The deal was negotiated by Gordon and the Paradigm Finance Group on behalf of the filmmakers.”

My Review Of “Kiss Of The Damned” 2013
.
“Kiss Of The Damned” is a modern gothic vampire tale that melds elements of classic romance with dramatic thriller edginess. The film is directed by Xan Cassavetes and stars Milo Ventimiglia, Joséphine de La Baume, Roxane Mesquida . In the movie Djuna falls in love with a young man Paolo whom she tries to resist. Her desire and connection to the suitor overtakes her convictions and she begins a relationship with the man. Soon he becomes her companion in the world of night and vampirism. By no means is this a horror film. “Kiss Of The Damned” is more of an Erotic Thriller than it is anything else. Keep that in mind when watching this film if you are expecting a “True Blood” high intensity or gore level because you will be disappointed. That being said, I really enjoyed the movie. Let me explain…
“Kiss Of The Damned” carries us back to the golden age of vampire tales when we held a romantic and dark desire for the creature of the night. This film is what I would imagine reading one of those supernatural themed Harlequin-eque romance novels would be like. The director explored the more passionate side of daily life and love affair between a vulnerable but strong woman and a man desperate to love her in every way. It was down right gothic and sweet. The film didn’t bother getting too graphic or soft-core with the heightened sexuality of the relationships depicted in the movie but it was adult enough to be sheer supernatural eye candy. This movie is a great date movie for that vampire loving partner or person you want to kick it with. The story was compelling in true dramatic style that expresses the lives we expect vampires to enjoy. Just note that this is not a “horror” movie nor do I believe the director ever intended it to be one.
“Kiss Of The Vampire” is a film that flows more as an emotional heart-song with moments that rise to melodrama before sliding darkly down into melancholy. There is plenty of blood soaked sequences that express the true nature and conflict that lives within the vampire but it does not push the themes to the level of grindhouse or exploitation. The movie will not be for everyone and if you enter the tale looking for high octane exuberance, of ravenous creatures as monsters, with bodies writhing in guts and gore- then you will not be satisfied. However if you remember the classic view of the more romantic creature of more gothic tales of the vampire then this movie gives you the heat, passion and- yes -the bloodstains as well.

Trailer Released For “Truth Or Dare”
Press Release:
Jessica's comment regarding the trailer:
“We chose to do a teaser to show fans the tone and type of film that we are going to create with their help. This film is inspired from all the conversations I’ve had with fans about what they want and also from my love of the horror genre. One of my favorite things about this project is that it goes to so many of the dark places that people fear. We tried to capture that with our teaser.”
Actress Devanny Pinn is known for roles in such films as the award-winning “The Black Dahlia Haunting,” “ViViD,” and the sci-fi thriller “Area 51 Confidential” (available now at Wal-Mart) which she also co-wrote.
Heather Dorff is a Chicago-based actress who got her start with the award winning “What They Say” which she starred in, narrated, produced, and wrote. She is also known for the John Wesley Norton film “Drifted” as well as Brian Troxell’s “Intrusive Behavior” which she co-starred in with fellow actress Jessica Cameron.
Heather had this to say about “Truth or Dare:”
“I am extremely excited to be a part of “Truth or Dare.” I had the pleasure of working with Jessica on a film recently and saw that she is an amazing actress. I’m sure she is going to be an amazing director as well. This film is one of the most gruesome scripts I’ve ever read and I’m excited for the new challenges it will present to me as an actress!”
Jordan Pacheco’s Quest To Provoke The Dead
ASouthernLife: This is your first feature length movie director, is directing something that you have always wanted to do?
Jordan Pacheco: Directing has always been a dream of mine but until the last few years seemed unreachable. I didn't go to film school or grow up in a community that had much to offer for a career in the arts. I learned what I could on my own and dived headfirst into working on short films and student projects, any position I could get. I was fortunate enough to meet some great filmmakers like Richard Griffin, Ric Rebelo and Eric Rodrigues that I could learn from.
ASouthernLife:Where did the concept come from for Provoked?
Jordan Pacheco: Provoked is based on a personal fear of mine as a amateur investigator. The thought of being followed home by a malicious entity always and still does make me second guess if I should be investigating the paranormal.
ASouthernLife: So you have been on paranormal investigations? Did you experience any ghost activities?
Jordan Pacheco: I have been on investigations and plan on doing many more. much like my characters in the film I have never gotten any solid evidence of the paranormal. I have had personal experiences. When I was young I would hear foot steps going up the staircase and across 2nd floor, then I would hear the bath tub run. When I went up to check it out no one was there and the tub was dry. I was the only one home every time this happened. Years later I found out a older man committed suicide in the tub.
ASouthernLife: You filmed in the Lizzie Borden house, how awesome was that experience?
Jordan Pacheco: Filming in the Borden house was a great experience. There were a lot of pictures from the trial and even some pieces of evidence. Besides what better places to film a paranormal film?
Jordan Pacheco: We didn't have any experiences while filming but we did an investigation with some of the cast and crew. One cast member Sean Carmichael experienced the sensation of someone gently touching the back of his neck and humming, he was alone on the third floor at the time. We also got a hit on the k2 meter when ever the murders or our presence was mentioned.
ASouthernLife: Where you tempted to use unconventional or extreme methods to "encourage" ghosts to interact with you guys?
Jordan Pacheco: I always encourage creative ways of investigating but would never attempt to provoke or anger a entity to get evidence. Everything we "know" about the paranormal is in all realism just theory and could be very dangerous.
ASouthernLife: You also do special effects/make-up but in Provoked you handed the task to Eric Rodrigues, was it an easy choice to hand over the effects to someone else for the look and feel of the movie in that manner?
Jordan Pacheco: In the past I have directed short films and wore many "hats" for all of them, but for Provoked and any feature film I feel it's important to give 100% to Directing. The choice was easy, I learned most of what I know as an FX artist from Eric and he is a very talented graduate of the Tom Savini school. The difficult part is resisting the urge to get in there and work with him, I love doing FX make up.
“Provoked” is Jordan Pacheco’s first film as director but it is far from his first movie project, having served as assistant director on other projects, most recently on another Indie project titled “Erebus”. That project is in post-production and is a horror anthology inspired by the well-documented history of supernatural phenomenon in Rhode Island. He is at the moment completely submerged in his directorial debut "Provoked". Pacheco told me that there are plans for multiple screenings around Halloween with Tony Moran holding attendance at some of the events. A venue has already been locked for when the project is complete with only minor set backs occurring, which is common with any movie’s production. Pacheco told me that everything is still on track with the project.

Trailer Released For “Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters”
In this retelling of Rick Riordans book, "The Sea of Monsters", Percy Jackson, accompanied by his friends Annabeth Chase, Clarisse La Rue and Tyson, his half brother, goes on a journey to the Sea of Monsters to retrieve the Golden Fleece and save Camp Half-Blood.
My Review Of “Bloody Bloody Bible Camp”
“Bloody Bloody Bible Camp” isn't actually a return to classic 80’s style slasher films but it is more of a celebration of the sub-genre in horror. The director of the movie highlighted and accentuated all that was glorious and gory of the decade that gave us the slasher not to mention the urban legends of masked killers lurking in the dark just beyond the yellow glow of the campfire. There are some moments in the film that “ham” it up a bit too much but they are very few and do not detract from the entertainment value of the complete picture. The characters are less than stellar, however they create a fun energetic vibe as rightful prey to the sinister Sister Mary Chopper. The film is a great indie fun time with plenty of set up scenes that strike instant nostalgia of the genre that thrives on body count. There are some weaknesses in the story that implies a greater desire to play on the gore rich kill scenes instead of a strong story but non of it really ever collapses the complete story line. Actually the film is so much fun to watch and is truly a great homage to the slasher genre that there is no real moment that would produce any emotion other than an instant love of the movie. Plus Sister Mary Chopper is just a great and terrible on screen monster that sparks all the happy thoughts of those other masked homicidal maniacs from decades past.
I would say that all horror fans would enjoy “Bloody Bloody Bible Camp” but don’t go into the film expecting a high production value or Indie gold acting. It is a great low budget film that is big on guts ‘n’ gore, tits and trash- not to mention the over the top campy humor. This isn't top notch scary horror but it holds it’s own when it comes to body count, blood and guts and presenting fans with a cool new psycho killer. Check it out if you like a bit of cheese with your gore! It really is a fun little flick.
Trailer Released For Creature Thriller “Venom”

Stranded in the desert with no phone and water, Helen and Lilly go on a desperate search for a doctor and safety. Yet, wherever they go, the Rattler follows quickly behind. With Helen’s body growing weaker and slower, it makes it easier for the clever snake to attack. But why is the snake following them, hunting them and ready to kill? And why is the Rattler not the only enemy who is after the two?
My Review Of “A Resurrection”
For me personally I am split on how I feel about “A Resurrection”. The film was shot very well with a complete seriousness to the story’s subject matter. It held a continuous dark foreboding and atmosphere of unease which kept the film in a complete suspenseful state of drama. The acting came off as believable and I felt these characters come alive in this twisted story of loss and resurrection. The movie hit on a pretty prevalent subject that plagues communities and schools across this nation with underage drinking, bullying and teen violence not to mention the social inequalities. All this made for a very dramatic and intensely entertaining plotline in the film. My issue lies with the fact that the horror was mediocre. It was as if the director made a staunch attempt to avoid any elements that a story like this practically demands to be displayed. There was no real scares or moments of intense chills in scenes that needed to be and the sequences that lead to death were completely shied away from which was very disappointing.
“A Resurrection” is a safe "PG-ish" film for fans of supernatural melodramas but if you’re a straight up horror fan then your going to be very disappointed because the horror is non-existent in this film . The story is a good one and the suspenseful and dark atmosphere make the film a nice movie to watch with your grandmother or someone who doesn’t like other more gory horror films but it is also a film that could have been better in so many ways. So I am conflicted on the movie because I liked what it turned out to be even though it wasn’t what I hoped for. So for anyone setting out to view this film just keep in mind that it is a psychological thriller more than it is a horror film.

Pagan Festival Shout Out! Veneralia & All Fool’s Day
Today in modern times it is April Fool’s Day! In ancient times the Roman’s celebrated Veneralia. The Festival of Bold Fortune in honor of Venus Verticordia one of the aspects of the goddess Venus. The worship of the goddess Fortuna Virilis ("Bold fortune") was also part of this festival. April 1st was also known as All Fool’s Day which also correlated with worship of the goddess Venus.
In 114 BC Venus Verticordia was given her own temple. She was meant to persuade Romans of both sexes and every class, whether married or unmarried, to cherish the traditional sexual proprieties and morality known to please the gods and benefit the State. During the Veneralia, her cult image was taken from her temple to the men's baths, where it was undressed and washed in warm water by her female attendants, then garlanded with myrtle. At the Veneralia, women and men asked Venus Verticordia for her help in affairs of the heart, sex, betrothal and marriage. Fortuna Virilis was given cult on the same day.
Ship of Fools
The calends of April (April 1) in ancient Rome was sacred to Venus?as was the entire month?and this day was called the Veneralia (the Kalendae, or calends, was the first day of the month in the Roman Calendar). Public games, ludi, would be held in her honour. Apollonius Sophistes tells us that some ancient authors actually derived the month's name from Aphrodite (perhaps via a conjectured Etruscan form, Aprodita); others derive it from aperire (to open), since it is the time when, according to Cincius and Varro, ?fruits and flowers and animals and seas and lands open.?
The Veneralia, on the first day of Venus?s month, honours Venus Verticordia (Changer of Hearts) and her companion Fortuna Virilis (Bold Fortune). In ancient times all the women, married and unmarried, went to the men's baths, as today they might go to swimming pools. Upon arriving they offered incense to Fortuna Virilis and prayed that the men would not see any blemishes the women might have had. They made a libation and drank the potion Venus drank on Her wedding night: pounded poppy with milk and honey. An ancient commentary (probably by Verrius) says they go to the baths to view the men's virile members. The women, crowned with myrtle wreaths, bathe and pray that Venus will bring them concord and a modest life. Ovid says, ?beauty and fortune and good fame are in Her keeping.?
In addition, the women would remove the jewellery and other ornaments from the statues of Venus and Fortuna so that they could be washed, after which they were redecorated and adorned with roses (Venus?s flower).
This day was also known as All Fools Day to the ancient Romans, and they would spend the entire day celebrating, laughing, playing tricks, doing things backwards, wearing women's clothes, dancing in the streets, and generally carrying on like fools and pranksters. It is one of the few Roman holidays that has preserved some of its original character, under the modern name April Fools' Day. The Lord of Misrule…(more here!)

Taweret (Tawret, Taueret, Tawaret, Taurt, Thoeris and Toeris, Ipy, Ipet, Apet, Opet, Reret) was an ancient Egyptian patron of childbirth and a protector of women and children. Like Bes, she was considered to be a ferocious demon as well as a protective and nurturing deity. She was associated with the lion, the crocodile, and the hippo; all animals which were feared by the Egyptians but also highly respected.
When acting as a protective force Taweret is described as a goddess. She was thought to help women in labor and to ward off evil spirits and demons who intended harm to mother or baby. She was also thought to help with matters of female sexuality and pregnancy, and so she was often associated with the goddess Hathor. (read the rest of this goddess’ story here!)
