"Under The Skin" Movie News

Scarlett Johansson is the perfect woman, at least according to aliens in “Under the Skin”, a new science-fiction project Jonathan Glazer, the writer/director of “Sexy Beast”, is working on for FilmNation.

“Johansson plays an alien on earth, disguised as the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman. She scours remote highways and desolate scenery looking to use her greatest weapon to snare human prey—her voracious sexuality.” But, wait, there’s more. “She is deadly efficient, but over time becomes drawn to and changed by the complexity of life on earth. With this new found humanity and weakening alien resolve, she finds herself on a collision course with her own kind. Taking her point of view throughout, the film presents a unique look at our world through alien eyes.”

"The Collapsed" Trailer and Poster

The story concerns itself with a family of four as they attempt to return home after the proverbial “end of the world”.
“The Collapsed”, which stars John Fantasia, Steve Vieira, Anna Ross, Lise Moule, and Vincent Thomas, will hopefully see the light of day sometime next year.

Synopsis: "It's the eve of Christmas in northern Finland, and an 'archeological' dig has just unearthed the real Santa Claus. But this particular Santa isn’t the one you want coming to town. When the local children begin mysteriously disappearing, young Pietari and his father Rauno, a reindeer hunter by trade, capture the mythological being and attempt to sell Santa to the misguided leader of the multinational corporation sponsoring the dig. Santa's elves, however, will stop at nothing to free their fearless leader from captivity. What ensues is a wildly humorous nightmare – a fantastically bizarre polemic on modern day morality.

Anne Rice on "Twilight" Universe!

Anne Rice had some not-so-nice things to say about Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight Saga" universe.
"['Twilight']’s based on a really silly premise: that immortals would go to high school. It's a failure of imagination, but at the same time, that silly premise has provided Stephenie Meyer with huge success," Anne said. "The idea that if you are immortal you would go to high school instead of Katmandu or Paris or Venice, it’s the vampire dumbed down for kids. But it's worked. It's successful. It makes kids really happy."

'True Blood' Actor Ryan Kwanten On Vampire Sex

Jason's no stranger to vampire sex. "He's slept with someone who had sex with a vampire," , referencing Jason's ill-fated relationships with fangbangers Dawn Green and Maudette Pickens. "And he's seen someone have sex with a vampire." (Vamp sex tapes, anyone?) But why has Jason never done the horizontal  with a  lady vamp? "He's probably still, as ridiculous as it sounds—he's the moral compass of 'True Blood,'" Ryan explained. "He's sort of our view in. He's one of the few, sort of, humans around."

Even though filming begins in a month, Ryan has yet to see a script. "I could make up something," he teased, "but anything I could make up would pale in comparison to what eventuates."

"Psycho Killer" From "The Last Exorcism" Team

"The Last Exorcism" creators Eli Roth, Eric Newman and Paris-based StudioCanal, are re-teaming on a genre follow-up, suspense pic "Psycho Killer," written by "Seven" scribe Andrew Kevin Walker. "Killer" marks the directorial debut of genre pic producer Gavin Polone, producer of "Zombieland."
"Killer" turns on a nameless, masked murderer who leaves a trail of victims across the U.S. In a chance encounter on the plains of Nebraska, he kills a highway patrolman. The only witness to the crime, the patrolman's young wife, a fellow officer, sets out to hunt the killer down, as the psycho killer plans his masterpiece: a mass murder which guarantees him a triumphant entry into hell. According to Polone, the first 20% of the film accompanies the serial killer. The film then follows the paths of psycho and officer until they converge. "Killer" is currently initiating casting. The femme lead will be played by "a very good rising actress, somebody audiences know but not a big star," said Ron Halpern, StudioCanal head of international acquisition and production.

Holmes constructed The World's Fair Hotel, an inn more lethal than the Bates Motel. The sociopath used charm and guile to lure guests into what became known as a "murder castle," a haunt that had a gas chamber, crematorium and a dissecting table where Holmes would murder his victims and strip their skeletons to sell for medical and scientific study.

"DarkChylde" Poster

The film is based on the comic by Randy Queen about an amiable southern teen cursed to become the creatures from her many recurring nightmares. Every time Ariel Chylde transforms, she sheds her skin and a new nightmare emerges from her Id to act out her deepest, darkest impulses.
Offering a stark contrast to super hero comics, Darkchylde was a breakout sensation of the late 90′s and early 2000′s, garnering immediate acclaim, and an unusually large female fanbase. The property went on to outsell Spider-Man, Superman, and Batman in both domestic and foreign audiences, and has been realized in toys, trading cards, apparel, lunch boxes, mini busts, and more recently a hit crossover with Top Cow, and a statue from PopCultureShockToys.

"The Terror Experiment" Poster and Synopsis

On the morning of Christmas Eve, a terrorist sets off an explosion that rocks the Federal building and unleashes a toxic gas throughout the ventilation system. His purpose - to expose the Government's secret biological warfare weapon, a deadly virus that instantly attacks a person's adrenal system, causing them to become inhumanly aggressive, with an uncontrollable urge to kill each other.
Now everyone below the 6th floor is infected, and have become vicious creatures. In order to contain the situation, the Federal Government places the building on lockdown mode, which automatically initiates a countdown that will detonate the building and bury the survivors and their secret inside.
With the time bomb ticking, a group of uninfected employees must band together and fight to get past the infected and out of the building alive. But they quickly realize there might be no escape, as whatever happened in this building is not intended to get out.
Infecting DVD shelves sometime next year!

"Red State" Poster

Writer-director Kevin Smith revealed:"Moody, weird, and pitch-perfect for the tone of the film," states Smith. "If I went out to an ad agency here in town, I’d be billed close to 20 grand for a campaign that’d maybe… maybe… include this poster. But this piece of artwork (I call it “The Holy Ghost”) didn’t come from a top-tier ad agency: Jon Gordon is my RED STATE producer, and this poster was created by his assistant, Melissa Bloom. So we’ve got a marketing image that was put together by someone who was on set every day, integral to the process that produced the film which inspired this image. This isn’t the work of some gun for hire who’s doing six other campaigns; we’re not just one of many. The marketer is actually family, RED from pre-production all the way through wrap, so she’s got an insight into the flick that no ad agency could ever boast (not even one-time Glo-Coat golden boy Don Draper over at SCDP). I’ll take passion over pedigree any day."
