images[2]This Sunday I decided to focus on the actual deity that fuels the desire of Satanists, Sinners, and the Sinister. It is time for another Satanic Sundays! post. All signs and seals signal the coming of Satan. From collecting souls for that ultimate showdown to manipulation desperate desires these films will see you in Hell. Here are my six picks for this sin filled Sunday.

Is soon becomes horribly clear the devil is at work as evil consumes all that is near.

Dayofthebeast3. The Day Of The Beast (1995)

A basque priest finds by means of a cabalistic study of the bible that the anti-christ is going to be born on Christmas day in Madrid. Helped by a heavy-metal fan and by the showman of a TV esoteric program, he will try to invoke the devil to find out the place of birth and kill the baby. “The Day Of The Beast” or “El Dia De La Beastia” is directed by Alex de la Inglesia and starring Alex Angulo, Armando De Razza, Maria Grazia Cucinotta and Nathalie Sesena.

ninth gate4. The Ninth Gate (1999)

Directed by Roman Polanski and starring Johnny Depp, Lena Olin, Frank Langella, and Emmanuelle Seigner. “The Ninth Gate” follows Dean Corso, a rare book dealer, who is appointed by a renowned book collector, Balkan, to verify the authenticity of one of his books. According to sources, only three copies of that book exist, and in three different places. After losing his friend who has been killed for that book, he leaves on the mission. He wants to verify Balkan's book but finds something else! During his dramatic travels through Paris and Madrid, too many things beyond his expectations are revealed!

baalthestormgod5. Ba’al (2008)

“Ba’al: THe Storm God” is directed by Paul Ziller and stars Jeremy London, Stephanie Von Pfetten, Scott Hylands, and David Lewis. A TV movie available in unrated form on DVD “Ba’al” is about an archeologist who is dying from cancer. He decides to go in search of an ancient amulet that he believes will cure his illness.  The amulet belongs to Ba’al the storm god.

Devil movie6. Devil (2012)

“Devil” is quite the little character study as the devil takes a disguise and enters into the elevator with sinister plans. He intends to collect some souls in his continued quest to raise the army to take on Heaven in that ultimate battle. The small group of people become trapped in the elevator and the presence of evil becomes horrifically clear. Not just the the trapped souls but to the detective and building detail who are making every effort to free the occupants.

These six flicks sent from the bowels of Hell celebrate the lore and the lure of Satan from many cultures and beliefs. One thing is very clear, if you see the signs and feel the chill then the Devil is truly near. From a spreading pestilence of evil to luring the power hungry deviant into a Hellish trap there is always a reason for fear when Satan appears. Enjoy this unholy day of dark allure. And as always…
