A Creative And Evil Way To Get Revenge

Japanese are not nothing if not creative in their story telling. Some of the films that have come from the Far East have changed the way ghost stories are told even here in America. That awareness is why I love Asian cinema. Now “Kotsutsubo/A Cinerary Urn” will change your perception of those ashes that belonged to your deceased loved one. In this tale adapted by the short story by Yusuke Yamada ashes so evil that a small sprinkle in your enemy’s drink can release true darkness. “Kotsutsubo” was released in Japan in May and hopefully there will be a US subtitled release soon. Check out the death rich trailer…

Eri (Natsumi Matsubara) is an inconspicuous female high school student who goes completely unnoticed by her classmates. In contrast, her childhood friend Mitsuko (Rurika Yokoyama) is the class leader and is constantly hit on by their creepy teacher, Ichida (Mamoru Tsubouchi). In order to protect her friend, Eri obtains a funerary urn rumoured to hold ashes that cause certain death for anyone who gets them in their mouth.
