Pushing the envelope on creative licensing rights and limitations The Asylum is no stranger to knock off movies. Now they just may be pushing that “line” even further with “Atlantic Rim”. The flick is an obvious low budget rip off of “Pacific Rim”. They have gotten away with it plenty in the past and I am sure they will be just fine now as well. Anyway the film is directed by Jared Cohn. The movie has already sparked the usual débat vs. “Pacific Rim”. When giant monsters crawl out of the Atlantic Ocean and attack the Eastern Seaboard, the US Government is forced to trust A.I. robots to defend the country.
