“Under The Skin” is a sort of verité that stars Scarlett Johansson as an alien trying to blend into a daily life as human. The film is a sci-fi thriller from the UK. The role has Johansson as a sort of seductress preying upon hikers in Scotland. “Under The Skin” is directed by Jonathan Glazer and has picked up some pretty mixed buzz on the festival circuit. It also stars Paul Brannigan, Jessica Mance and Joe Szula. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Michael Faber. Check out the trailer below. In the film, as in the novel, the protagonist is an extraterrestrial sent to Earth by a rich corporation on her planet to pick up unwary hitchhikers. She drugs them and delivers them to her compatriots, who mutilate and fatten her victims so that they can be turned into meat—human ("vodsel") flesh is a delicacy on the aliens' barren homeworld.
