Clip Released For Mutant Creature Feature "Strange Nature"

FX master James Ojala's directorial debut, "Strange Nature" , has released a new disturbing clip. Based on real life cases of mysterious mutations in wildlife, the film pits man against nature  (against science run amuck). It stars Lisa Sheridan, Stephen Tobolowsky, John Hennigan, Tiffany Shepis, and Carlos Alazraqui. "Strange Nature" kicks off its theatrical release in LA on September 22nd.

By moving in with her estranged hermit father in the backwoods of a small town, Kim (Lisa Sheridan, “The 4400”) and son Brody find themselves in the middle of a horrendous phenomenon where deadly offspring mutations spread from animals to humans.

My Review Of "My Pet Dinosaur"

Spielbergian fantasy film My Pet Dinosaur, from Matt Drummond is a cross between E.T and Monster’s Inc. The film fixes on the unlikely friendship between a boy and a dinosaur.  Cast includes Jordan Dulieu, Annabel Wolfe, Christopher Gabardi and Tiriel Mora.

When a boy finds the remnants of a failed military experiment his troubled town is plunged further into chaos as he accidentally makes a new friend.

The story is your classic coming-of-age, family friendly adventure flick, with stereotypical youths, maturetc emotional conflict,  and it's about a boy and his geneticallygrown dinosaur created from alien goo. It really plays upon whimsy and the fantastic similar to classic tales like "The Water Horse" and "Pete's Dragon".

"My Pet Dinosaur" is a nicely made indie film that hits the hearts of young fans and young at heart fans alike into dinosaur and pet driven family films. I found Drummond's story endearing. Although there isn't anything here that hasn't already been done before, this movie still captures the heart and attitude of childhood fantasy and even pulls in some nostalgia based energy.

The characters are likeable,  recognizable personas that drive the emotion of the movie. The whole fake American aspect was annoying,  but whatever.  Magnus is adorable, captivating- as much as any CGI driven pet dinosaur can be. And the CGI is well done and quality work for a microbudget production. There is a few lower quality moments CGI wise, but for the most part it works. (3/5)

Trailer Release For Netflix's Cult-themed Thriller "Apostle"

Anot official trailer drops for Netflix's upcoming Cult-themed thriller "Apostle". The film premieres Oct. 12th and stars Dan Stevens, Lucy Boynton, Mark, Lewis Jones, Bill Milner, Kristine Froseth, and Michael Sheen. "Apostle" is directed by Gareth Evans. 

In this thriller, a man travels to a remote island in search of his missing sister, who was kidnapped by a murderous religious cult.

U.S. Release Details Announced For "The Laplace's Demon"

Sci-fi horror "The Laplace's Demon" has found U.S VOD distribution. The award-winning film, directed by Giordano Giulivi, will be released the on iTunes, Amazon Prime Video and other digital platforms in the United States and Canada this fall Reel Nightmare Films. Alessandro Zonfrilli, Carlotta Mazzoncini, Duccio Giulivi, Ferdinando D’Urbano, Silvano Bertolin, Simone Moscato, Simone Valeri, and Walter Smorti star.

New Poster Release For "Venom"

Sony Pictures has released a new poster ahead of the film's October release. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer and draws heavily on the graphic novel story arc of Lethal Protector. It stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate and hits theatres Oct. 5th.

Following a scandal, journalist Eddie Brock attempts to revive his career by investigating the Life Foundation, but comes into contact with an alien symbiote that bonds with Brock, giving him superpowers as long as they share the same body but at the cost of threatening his sanity. Together, they must work to stop other symbiotes from infecting all of humanity, taking on the shared form of Venom.

New Poster Released For Fan Film "She Burns In Hell"

Concept Media announced their “Carrie” fan-film, in production, will be released later this year . “SHE BURNS IN HELL: Accounts from Chamberlain, Maine” is inspired by the closing chapters of Stephen King’s novel, the short exploring the stories of the citizens that survived their encounters with the unhinged telekinetic on Prom Night. 

Written and directed by Ryan Stacy, the film is set on the night of May 26, 1979. She Burns In Hell" stars Brittany Blanton (Don’t Fuck in the Woods, Failing Grace) as Carrie White. “SHE BURNS IN HELL” will be available digitally, completely free to stream on YouTube later this year.
