UK/Netherlands home invasion thriller DEADLY VIRTUES by Ate De Jong (Highway To Hell) is set to receive its world premiere at Imagine Film Festival in Amsterdam and Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival in Belgium this April.
In DEADLY VIRTUES Edward Akrout stars as a psychopathic key cutter who breaks into the home of a married couple (Megan Maczko and Matt Barber) and subjects them to a long weekend of physical and psychological torture. The home invader is an expert in Kinbaku, the Japanese fetish art of tieing knots, which he uses to trap and seduce his victims. The experience reveals transgressions in the couples relationship and ultimately acts as a catalyst for extreme liberation.
Represented for world sales by genre specialist Jinga Films, DEADLY VIRTUES has already been snapped up by Tiberius Film for distribution in Germany and will receive market screenings at the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival.
DEADLY VIRTUES is the first of a slate of genre films being developed by Ate De Jong of Dutch production company Mulholland Pictures and Elliot Grove and Suzanne Ballantyne of UK production company Raw Talent.
