Trailer Released For Sci-fi/Horror “Afflicted”

Check out the trailer for sci-fi-horror “Afflicted”. The film is directed by Derek Lee and Clif Prowse. The two also co-star in the film which also stars Baya Rehaz. “Afflicted” will be released on April 4th, 2014. Two best friends see their trip of a lifetime take a dark turn when one of them is struck by a mysterious affliction. Stay Out Of The Woods, Or The Lashman Will Getchya

Nashville, TN (02.25.2014) Red Headed Revolution Pictures has unleashed a brand new theatrical trailer for the upcoming feature length horror film The Lashman directed by Cameron McCasland.


The Lashman is a tale of terror. When five friends set out for a weekend excursion, they soon realize their campfire tales have turned into their worst nightmares.

The Lashman stars Stacey Dixon, Shawn C. Phillips, David Vaughn, Jeremy Jones, Kaylee Williams, Tim Emery, Lee Vervoort, David Chattham, Terry Gragg, Todd Bush, Alea Jordan, Joe Downing and Larry Underwood. The movie was shot on location in western Kentucky.

The Lashman marks the feature length film debut of Cameron McCasland who wrote, produced, and directed the movie. McCasland honed his film making skills in television directing music videos as well as the award winning made for TV movie, The Dreadful Hallowgreen Special, and Go Green With Dr. Gangrene series of short films.

Almost 4 years in the making this theatrical trailer offers the first real glimpses of McCaslands backwoods boogeyman. As well as the first listen to the newly minted score composed and performed by Thomas Berdinski.  McCasland said of the movie. “We know people have waited a long time to see this film. Release Date Set For “Scream Park”

The release date has been set for Cary Hill’s “Scream Park”. The long awaited horror film starring Doug Bradley will be released on DVD/VOD April 22nd, 2014.

US Release Date Set For Sung-su Kim’s “Flu” On DVD

A US release date has been set for viral outbreak horror “Flu”. The Korean horror film will hit DVD shelves on March 18th stateside. “Flu” stars Jang Hyuk, Soo-Ae, Park Min-Ha, Yu Hae-Jin, Ma Dong-Seok and Lee Hee-Joon. The special features on the DVD are a making of featurette, Deleted scenes and Concept art.


A deadly epidemic is sweeping through Bundang, the suburb of Seoul. After smuggling illegal immigrants into the country, Byung-woo dies from an unknown virus. Soon after that, the same symptoms begin to plague scores of residents, spreading chaos and terror. As a worst-case scenario precaution, Bundang is about to be shut down by the government, while In-hye and Ji-goo try to go into the closed city.

My Review Of “The Invoking”

Jeremy Berg’s “The Invoking” tells the story of a young woman out to discover a past she never knew existed when a house is left to her by family she never knew was there. Samantha Harris (Trin Miller) and three of her friends take a trip to Sader Ridge to investigate the property, in the care of someone from Sam’s past. “The Invoking” stars Andi Norris, Brandon Anthony, Trin Miller, Carson Holden, D'Angelo Midili, and Josh Truax.

The story in “The Invoking” is a pretty cool, classic adventure turned nightmare and that works for the first half of the film. The characters are emotive and portray some pretty convincing roles. There is some lag when the story arch hits the midway point, and instead of rushing into a thrilling overload of horror and melodrama, things fall a bit flat. The vision goes from one of almost paranormal chills to one that seems patch-worked between missing intent and scattered dramatics. I felt that something got lost in the translation toward the last act of the story. The first part created a great character building connection between me and the characters, the second act created an atmosphere of haunting unease but the last act seemed lost or held back. Plus there is absolutely nothing paranormal, supernatural or invoking in the story save the lead character’s, Sam’s, recovered memories of a sketchy past. I felt the marketing for this film is very misleading and that is really off-putting.

The special effects and horror elements in this film are almost non-existent. I am not sure if that was intentional or a budget crunching thing but I really expected more from “The Invoking” and was left with a major feeling of disappointment. The few horror moments in the film are lightly braised upon with standard effects tricks that work but considering there were so few moments and most of the film is melodrama I feel Lifetime Movie Network is more this film’s audience. The ending was a total miss and made very little since. The meat of the mystery caretaker and Sam’s relationship is almost missing from the story. The moments touched upon are not enough to justify how this film ends. So really most of the film is a fail considering the pay-off, after such a suspense build-up, is really not worth the time invested. I say skip “The Invoking”.

Release Date Set For “MurderDrome” DVD

Camp Motion Pictures and Daniel Armstrong’s Australian slasher “MurderDrome” has a North American release date set. The film starring Kat Anderson, Rachael Blackwood, Jake Brown, and Anthony Cincotta will be released on DVD August 26th along with an online digital release.

Roller derby dames take on supernatural evil. Cherry Skye just wants to skate, but the vengeful ghost of a killer has plans for her soul. Trapped between the wrath of love scorned and supernatural evil, Skye races towards The MurderDrome at breakneck speed. When she gets there there’s no guarantees anyone is coming out alive.
