The Horror Film “Slash” Begins Filming This Summer

"Slash”, the upcoming feature film from White Chapel, LLC- Rycke Foreman and Maria (Monsteworks 66) Olsen is currently in pre-production with filming to begin this summer in New Mexico. The movie  brings the story of the Ripper from the foggy streets of Whitechapel in London to White Chapel, New Mexico. Casting will begin in April and most of the 25-30 speaking parts and 350 background parts will be cast locally. The story about family discord as step-brothers Cade and Trench have to deal with the horrific events as they transpire. There is currently a crowd funding campaign going on over at Indiegogo to help see this film get made that you can check out.

‘True Blood’ Gets Summer Return

The sixth season of ‘True Blood’ will premiere on June 19th 2013 on HBO. The shows return will consist of ten episodes and see the regular cast all return as well as some new blood. Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, Deborah Ann Woll, Rutina Wesley will be joined by Rob Kazinsky and Rutger Hauer. Also behind the scenes, Mark Hudis, who was selected to replace series creator Alan Ball as showrunner stepped down in early March. According to HBO, Hudis vacated the post in order to take on development, as per his overall deal with HBO. Hudis is being replaced by “True Blood” co-executive producer Brian Buckner, who’s been on staff since the show’s first season.

Trailer Released For Slasher Comedy “Holla II”

Check out the trailer for “Holla II” The film is directed by H.M. Coakley who also wrote the script. A New Homicidal Ride Heading Our Way

“The Truck” is an 80’s throwback to such horror films of old where it was the psychotic machine that left a path of carnage in their wake. The film comes from Indie director Lee Vervoort and is being produced by Riley Hollow Films. It is due out Nov. 12 2013 and stars John Michael Morris, Rachelle Graber, Tim Emery and Andy Grace.

Hammer Releases New Poster For “The Quiet Ones”

The Quiet Ones (inspired by true events) tells the story of an unorthodox professor who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist. Based on the theory that paranormal activity is caused by human negative energy, the rogue scientists perform a series of tests on a young patient, pushing her to the edge of sanity. As frightening occurrences begin to take place with shocking and gruesome consequences, the group quickly realizes they have triggered a force more terrifying than they ever could have imagined.

Hammer is riding off the resurge of interested in the studio and it’s ability to tell classic thrilling horror stories after the success of “The Woman In Black” and most recently the campaign to re-launch it’s classic collections series to the growing base of new fans.  Check out the poster for their latest thriller coming our way. The film has been known of for some time but most of the movies details have been limited until recently. The film should be exciting because it hits the material that has proven to be Hammer’s second “sweet” spot-the paranormal. Their first “sweet” spot of course is – Vampires. Now if the studio would just get a hard on for werewolves I would be the happiest geeky Hammer fan on the planet.

First Poster For ‘Zombieland’ TV Series Released

The first poster for Amazon’s surprising new original zombie series ‘Zombieland’ has been released. After several years of rumors and disappointments over the pending sequel to film it was Amazon’s announcement of the series in development based on Zombieland which sparked new interest in the franchise. The series pilot is directed by Eli Craig and stars Kirk Ward (The Island), Maiara Walsh (Desperate Housewives, Switched at Birth), Tyler Ross (Milkshake) and Izabela Vidovic.
