Teaser Released For "The Man In Room Six"

Bill Oberst Jr. stars as "The Man In Room Six" , directed by Trevor Juenger. The film costars Jackie Kelly and David Wassilak. It isn't set for release until 2020, but the film has a crowd funding campaign set up.

Carrie (Jackie Kelly) is a socially-troubled young woman trying to mend a strained relationship with her mother. After her grandfather dies in a nursing home, Carrie finds herself attracted to William (Bill Oberst Jr.), an elderly man in a neighboring room. William’s doctor offers Carrie a part-time position with the nursing home to keep tabs on the old man.

William shares a series of tall tales from his life as a younger man. He claims to be immortal, cursed to never die, but to grow old and sick. Before he can finish his final tale, William mysteriously disappears, and Carrie is implicated in his murder.

Carrie is committed to a girls’ asylum where tensions grow between herself and her childhood psychologist (David Wassilak) until Carrie must escape the facility at any cost. Unable to separate reality from fantasy, Carrie conjures the ghost of William to finish his tales and aide her escape.

Trailer Released For Next Installment To Hulu's "Into The Dark"

The trailer has been released for Hulu's next installment of unique anthology series "Into The Dark", focusing on New Years. Into the Dark: New Year, New You” premieres December 28th. It stars Suki Waterhouse, Carly Chaikin, Melissa Bergland, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Isabella Acres, Michelle Haro, and Bianca Lopez. 

Directed by Sophia Takal, the film deals with people's fascination with "self-care". A group of millennial friends gather for a girls’ night reunion on New Year’s Eve to reconnect and reminiscence. But as they begin to rehash old memories and revisit an old party game of “Never, Have I Ever,” gripes and secrets they’ve been harboring manifest in nefarious and surprising ways.

Cast Details Released For Netflix "The Dark Crystal" Prequel

Netflix is hard at work adapting Jim Henson fantasy "The Dark Crystal" into its next break-out series. 'The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance' will serve as a sequel to the 1982 film. Now the streaming service has released the details about the all-star cast. The 10 episode first season will stream sometime 2019.

The epic voice cast includes Taron Edgerton (Kingsman) as Rian, Anya Taylor Joy (The Witch) as Brea, and Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) as Deet – all Gelfling. 

Other Gelfling characters will be voiced by Helena Bonham-Carter (Fight Club, the Harry Potter series); Eddie Izzard (Hannibal); Toby Jones (The Mist, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy); Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones); Gugu Mbatha-Raw (The Cloverfield Paradox); Mark Strong (Kingsman, Kick-Ass); Theo James (Castlevania, the Divergent series); and Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider, Ex Machina). 

Voicing the Skeksis and Mystics are Mark Hamill (Star Wars, Justice League Action), Harvey Fierstein (Independence Day, Mulan), Ralph Ineson (The Witch), Keegan-Michael Key (The Predator, Key and Peele), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Mission Impossible), and Andy Samberg (Brooklyn Nine Nine).

Official Trailer Released For "Doom Room"

Doom Room, starring genre legend Debbie Rochon, and directed by Jon Keeyes (The Harrowing), comes to digital January 15 from Wild Eye Releasing.

A woman wakes up locked in a small room with no memory of how she arrived there. Unable to escape, and tormented by a series of paranormal entities, she must uncover the riddle of who she is and how she got here.

Scripted by Keeyes and Carl Kirshner, the film also stars Nicholas Ball (TVs ''Red Dwarf''), Johanna Stanton, Hayden Tweedie (The Harrowing) and Matthew Tompkins ("Prison Break").

Wide Digital Release Announced For "Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel"

The highly anticipated sequel HELL HOUSE LLC II: THE ABADDON HOTEL was initially released September 20th on the genre streaming site SHUDDER. After a 3-month exclusive window on this platform, TERROR FILMS will make this exciting haunter on several more Digital hosters, including: Amazon Instant, iTunes, Vudu, Steam, Google Play and Xbox. This latest release will also take place in multiple countries, beginning Friday, January 4th, 2019.

Upon the initial release of HELL HOUSE LLC II: THE ABADDON HOTEL, writer/director Stephen Cognetti’s sequel set off an online frenzy among fans leaving them hungry for more. Although an official announcement has not been made, the attached banner was uploaded to the TERROR FILMS’ official Facebook page several weeks ago, clearly hinting at a third installment coming this October 2019, titled HELL HOUSE LLC III: LAKE OF FIRE.

Horror Movie "Scarecrows" Creating Real Life Horrors For Farmers

SCARECROWS, the stoner-horror film from Uncork'd Entertainment, is snaring fans quickly -- but they're going about their fandom for the Stu Stone-directed movie in the wrong way.

The audience has connected with the movie to such a degree that it has become a problem for some farmers. SCARECROWS revolves around a group of stoner-teens who unknowingly trespass onto a farmers field. Unbeknownst and unluckily for the teens, this farmer tortures people who uninvitedly trespass on his property. The killer hunts them down, nails them to crosses and hangs them in the field as human scarecrows, leaving them to die.

A couple weeks back Producer Adam and Director Stu noticed their inboxes had an unusually high number of emails. Confused, the guys investigated to find several emails from farmers reporting teens sneaking onto their property and getting high in the cornfields and trying to find their way out.  They connected with some of the farmers who stated that the kids had seen the movie on the streaming platform and were imitating it in real life. The farmers thought the filmmakers were irresponsible in not making it clear that people should not copy a movie. Completely dismayed, Adam & Stu talked the farmer down and agreed to release a statement encouraging people to NOT imitate a horror movie and get stoned in cornfields!
 

Please, while we are incredibly flattered that you liked our film, we implore everyone to not copy what you see on tv or in the movies. Trespassing is illegal and could be outright dangerous. You and your friends could get SHOT AND KILLED, and its just not worth it. We do however encourage everyone to get high and watch the movie from the safety of your own homes!

My Review Of "City Of Gold"

Harry Locke's "City Of Gold" is an action adventure fantasy. The film stars Vernon Wells, Christopher Atkins, John Charles Meyer, Adrienne Whitney Papp, Riley Dandy, Robbie Allen and Jennifer Rikert Wolski. The movie spins a graphic novel attitude into classic adventure fanfare, at times feeling organic and ambitious while other scenes show more mimicry than imagination.

An anguished media magnate, Jonathan Davenport, accompanies his estranged lover to the Peruvian Amazon in pursuit of a reclusive artist living in rebel occupation. Despite their philanthropic intentions, the mission proves to be the harbinger of something dark and ominous rooted deep within Jonathan.

The story begins with almost experimental indie fervere, and raises an eyebrow of interest from the start. The acting is blended, some moments read smoothly while others come off contrived or over-stated. Still, Locke maintains control enough to create an interesting enough story, and the scenes are rich with melodrama and theatrics. There isn'tmuch originality present but the almost graphic novel style of story telling adds a better quality to "City Of Gold.

The special effects are mixed bag choices, cheap CGI and some practical choices create enough thrills to help get the film to action adventure lecels. Budget restrains are obvious and Locke's film pushes the limit with effectiveness. Still all things considered the action and effects scenes work. The real winner is the locations and cinematography. Overall "City Of Gold" is an okay film, just don't go in with blockbuster expectations. (3/5)
