"Jack the Reaper" Teaser Clip

Thanks to Dread Central for the clip from "Jack the Reaper". The film is about a group of teens set out on a field trip to a railroad museum only to encounter "Railroad Jack", who makes sure their bus crashes and forces them to explore his carnival as he picks them off one at a time.

HBO gives us "American Gods" Maybe?!

HBO is in negotiations to acquire another fantasy property, “American Gods”, the Hugo and Stoker Award winning novel from acclaimed writer Neil Gaiman. At the moment the plan is for Gaiman to co-write the pilot with Robert Richardson, the cinematographer of films like “Hugo Cabaret”, “Inglorious Basterds”, and “Kill Bill”.

“American Gods”

lays out a battle between two sets of gods. One consists of the traditional gods and mythological creatures who got their power because people throughout history believed in them. They are losing steam as people’s beliefs wane and are in danger of being supplanted by a new set of gods who reflect America’s preoccupation with technological advancements and obsessions with media, celebrity, technology and drugs. The protagonist is an ex-con who becomes the traveling partner of a conman who turns out to be one of the older gods trying to recruit troops to battle the upstart deities.

The story is about a local DJ who mistakenly unleashes a hellish curse on the town. 300 years earlier on the very streets of Salem that the townspeople walk on today, innocent folks were rounded up from their homes, convicted of being witches and sentenced to death. The Lords of Salem ran the town with an iron fist, but four witches who were tortured and killed in secrecy vowed that one day they would be back for revenge.

Paramount’s Insurge Pictures, a division devoted to low-budget horror films, recently acquired the exorcism tale for wide release on February 24, 2012.
Synopsis
Her entire life, Isabella Torelli believed her mother brutally murdered three people because she was clinically insane. After being told the murders occurred during an exorcism, she sets out to discover the truth. While documenting her experience with a film crew in Italy, she becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms.
