This movie is had me from the first flip between black&white to color shots as the cast discuss the goings on around them and smack talk about bullshit having no clue that they are the undead. The humor was subtle yet funny without having to pull out the stereotypical crude gags you would naturally expect in a film of this nature. The randomness of the day’s events unfolding bring a casual yet chaotic familiarity that is common not only in slacker films but in actual life, minus the zombie apocalypse thing. He knew that hanging out at the bowling alley could be so dangerous to your health.
“AAAH! Zombies!” as I choose to call it, again personal preference, has a cool cast that actually seem to have fun on screen playing these characters and it shows. The back and forth between the color and no color scenes give it a crisp perspective between how one sees their world and how the world actually is. It is both funny and truthful in this aspect. We see them as rotting corpses stinking up the world around them and they see themselves as the “too cool for school” crew. This is a good film that manages to make you laugh and be grossed out a bit on a smaller budget.
I give “AAAH! Zombies” ****4/5*****
