Murderdolls-Women and Children Last CD

Horror influenced glam-punk group Murderdolls first hit the scene back in 2002.
Their debut album – the monster-mash Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls was a smash but the band members went their separate ways.

Women and Children Last (let's call it WACL from here) is a decidedly darker effort.
Straddling the line between '80s-era hard rock and the Alice school are tunes like Summertime Suicide – which is more solidly melodic, with a groovy chorus hook and a great lead guitar. The Crüe sound comes through strongest in tunes like Death Valley Superstars, Rock N Roll Is All I Got and Nothing's Gonna Be Alright, but on Blood Stained Valentine the band goes as far as to enlist Crüe guitarist Mick Mars for axe duties. While that track is not nearly as catchy, Mars' solo work comes through most powerfully on Drug Me to Hell – which ironically is far less Crüe-like in tone, filled instead with crunchy, stacked modern-metal riffs and doubled vocals.
That more contemporary groove-metal sound comes through best on My Dark Place Alone – which is highly reminiscent of Rob Zombie's early work, complete with heavy drop-tuned riffs and caustic, snarling vocals, while Homicide Drive has a dark, shuffling beat and will definitely stick in your mind thanks to the use of “supercalifragilisticexpealidocious” in a lyric that would probably blow Mary Poppins back up into the clouds. After that, the standard edition album closes on an almost-as-memorable note with Hello, Goodbye, Die.

Clint Eastwood's "Hereafter" Trailer

Here is the trailer for Clint Eastwood's supernatural thriller "Hereafter" starring Matt Damon.

Hereafter tells the story of three people who are touched by death in different ways. George (Matt Damon) is a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie (Cécile De France), a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus, a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might--or must--exist in the hereafter.

"Mirrors 2" Trailer

The new film, due out on DVD and Blu-ray October 19 from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, follows the troubled Max (TERMINATOR 3’s Nick Stahl), who is recovering from a traumatic accident and takes a job as a nighttime security guard. Similar to the unfortunate Kiefer Sutherland in the previous film directed by Alexandre Aja, Max begins to see visions in the store’s mirror of a young woman who had been murdered there. Embarking on a gruesome rampage, the mysterious ghost stalks the men and women responsible for her horrific death one by one, exacting bloody revenge. Directed by Spanish filmmaker Victor Garcia (RETURN TO HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL and the short EL CICLO) and written by Matt Venne (MASTERS OF HORROR, FEAR ITSELF, WHITE NOISE 2), MIRRORS 2 also stars HOUSE’s William Katt, SAW II’s Emmanuelle Vaugier and Christy Carlson Romano.

"Let Me In" New Images

Looking forward to seeing this movie!
An alienated 12-year-old boy befriends a mysterious young newcomer in his small New Mexico town, and discovers an unconventional path to adulthood in Let Me In, a haunting and provocative thriller written and directed by filmmaker Matt Reeves (Cloverfield). Twelve-year old Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby (Chloe Moretz), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father (Oscar®nominee Richard Jenkins). A frail, troubled child about Owens’s age, Abby emerges from her heavily curtained apartment only at night and always barefoot, seemingly immune to the bitter winter elements. Recognizing a fellow outcast, Owen opens up to her and before long, the two have formed a unique bond. When a string of grisly murders puts the town on high alert, Abby’s father disappears, and the terrified girl is left to fend for herself. Still, she repeatedly rebuffs Owen’s efforts to help her and her increasingly bizarre behavior leads the imaginative Owen to suspect she’s hiding an unthinkable secret.

"Hellraiser: Revelations" News

Peta Wilson has been replaced by Devon Sorvarin (The Dark, The Realm). According to the ever-so unreliable IMDB Steven Brand (as "Dr. Ross Craven"), Sanny Van Heteren (as "Kate Bradley"), Tracey Fairaway (as "Emma") and Daniel Buran (as "Vagrant") all star in Dimension Films' low budget Hellraiser: Revelations.
Brand landed the lead role of Dr. Craven, a man who is attempting to bring the family back to normal after his son went missing two years ago. He's described as a "good man that has fought hard to keep his family together." Fairaway plays his daughter, Emma, described as "lovely and inquisitive and on the verge of her own womanhood." Filming is already underway. Under the direction of Víctor Garcia (Return to House on Haunted Hill, Mirrors II). FX specialist Gary J. Tunnicliffe penned the screenplay that follows two friends who unleash Pinhead, who becomes their master of pain. One of the friends has a change of heart. He backs out on his oath hoping to swap himself out with one of hi friend's family members.

"We R Animals"

Snow White the rabbit is stuck in a sadistic man’s pet store, she craves for love but nobody wants to take her home. But one day the animals wreck havoc and they all escape, including Snow White. She gets lost with her newfound freedom and almost dies, until the nice old lady Alice saves her. Snow White would’ve had a bright future if not for Alice’s jealous and vindictive dogs, who call on their friend Flash, a shady and devious pimp cat. Together they plan to transform Alice’s apartment into a brothel for animals, and force Snow White and even the human Alice into prostitution.
We R Animals is a comic adventure, filled with drug using cats, horny dogs, cat-ninja assassins, vampire bats, cruelty and magic. In essence We R Animals is a love story told with warmth, where sometimes the laughter sits in the throat and forces us to question the morals and views of both animals and man.
Cat pimp. Cat ninja. Cat junkie. And also a vampire bat. And a cute, fluffy bunny who is going to have to sell it to survive. Welcome to the world of We R Animals, the debut feature from Thobias Hoffmen. The Swedish produced, English language puppet animated feature with an obvious love for Peter Jackson's Meet The Feebles is targeting production for 2011 but having recently shot a test 'pilot' to demonstrate the concept to potential investors the producers have just released a series of stills to show off their perverse animatronic creations.
I hope it is subtitled because as soon as it is available in US I am getting this. They look so cute.

"The Dark Tower" Trilogy Gets Film and TV Deal

Universal Pictures and NBC Universal Television Entertainment have closed a deal to turn Stephen King’s mammoth novel series The Dark Tower into a feature film trilogy and a network TV series, both of which will be creatively steered by the Oscar-winning team behind A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code. Ron Howard has committed to direct the initial feature film, as well as the first season of the TV series that will follow in close proximity. Akiva Goldsman will write the film, and the first season of the TV series. Howard’s Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer will produce, with Goldsman and the author.
Considered King’s answer to JRR Tolkien’s Middle Earth trilogy, The Dark Tower revolves around Roland Deschain, the last living member of a knightly order of gunslingers, and humanity’s last hope to save a civilization that will crumble unless he finds the Dark Tower. Howard and Goldsman describe the world as “an alternate Americana, one part post-apocalyptic, one part Sergio Leone.” The plan is to start with the feature film, and then create a bridge to the second feature with a season of TV episodes. That means the feature cast—and the big star who’ll play Deschain—also has to appear in the TV series before returning to the second film. After that sequel is done, the TV series picks up again, this time focusing on Deschain as a young gunslinger. Those storylines will be informed by a prequel comic book series that King was heavily involved in plotting. The third film would pick up the mature Deshain as he completes his journey. They will benefit from being able to use the same sets cast and crew for the movie and TV, which could help contain costs on what will be a financially ambitious undertaking.
Howard, Grazer and Goldsman will exec produce the TV series for Universal Media Studios. Kerry Foster will exec produce the first film for Weed Road, along with Imagine's Todd Hallowell and Erica Huggins.

"Beetlejuice" Character 'Otho' dies

Bessemer native Glenn Shadix, a Hollywood character actor best known for his role as Otho the interior decorator in Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice," died this morning following a fall at his Birmingham condo, a family member said today.
Mr. Shadix, who appeared in more than 70 films and TV shows, was 58.
Shadix’s sister Susan Gagne said, “He was having mobility problems, and he was in a wheelchair. It looks like he fell and hit his head in the kitchen, and that’s the cause of death.”

Danzig "On A Wicked Night" Video

The video for On a Wicked Night is a DIY affair, shot at the legendary Hollywood goth club Batcave back in June, and is essentially a live re-enactment of the album's sweet cover art by Joe Chiodo (itself inspired by classic Warren horror comics like Creepy or Eerie), depicting a skull-faced cemetery siren in a slinky black dress beneath a cadaverous tree.
The song is the first single from Danzig's long-awaited latest solo album Deth Red Sabaoth, which has been doing quite well since its release earlier this summer.

"Zombieland 2" News

Zombieland 2, Reuben Fleischer's 3-D post-apocalyptic zombie sequel to the horror comedy that will (probably) see the return of stars Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and Jesse Eisenberg. He not only confirms that the 3-D will be shot on camera, but he also has a lot to say about the sequel's direction: "it jumps all over the place." Fleischer confirmed he'll shoot the sequel with 3-D cameras, rather than use a controversial post-production process. "When it comes to 3-D, I feel pretty strongly that you should shoot it in camera," he told MTV. "I feel like it just looks so much better. If you're going to make a 3-D movie, go ahead and make a 3-D movie. I would definitely, if we do 'Zombieland 2,' make it in 3-D and want to shoot it in 3-D."

More info soon as Columbia Pictures hopes to lock a cast and begin shooting later this year for a potential 2011 release.
