Latest Riddick Image Has Vaako On The Edge

Vin Diesel has released yet another still from the forthcoming “Riddick” film. In the image you can see that Riddick as always is in control as Vaako Stands at the Edge of Riddick’s blade. Also in the film with Vin Diesel and Karl Urban are Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Dave Bautista, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo  and Nolan Funk.

Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy. The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

Premiere Event Set For “The Devil’s Hand”

The Devil's HandThe Devil’s Hand” is an interesting Indie project that I had not heard of until today. The film comes from Eagle Road Films and has one hell of an antagonist. Directed by Jimmy Rogers and starring J. Ashley Renfroe, Bob Fitts, Mia Frost, James Walker Wallace, Mike Avallone, Jaymee Vowell and Rachel Murrell. The story follows a rising star politician who is thrust into the unknown when he is involved in a fatal accident. The tragedy forces a confrontation with Lucifer Himself. The Politician is then compelled to make a decision as old as time itself that opposes all that he stands for.

“The Devil’s Hand” has one really kick ass thing going for it and that is the hellacious full on Lucifer creature effect that quite frankly equals anything that Buffy or Angel ever had to face. The premiere is set for Wednesday 30th at The Tipping Point in Montgomery Ala. at 7:00 pm.  Below you can check out the first look footage posted to the movie’s page as well as some stills from the film. If your in the area I suggest you drop in an check out it out.

Check Out The Trailer For “Gut Munchers”

Gut MunchersGut Munchers” is an Indie gore fest from DidYouBuryIt? Productions and directed by Jason Snellgrove. The film creates a campy but cult classic nightmare in which a stray barrel of toxic waste leaks into a stream on local hunting grounds. Soon all hell breaks loose! Radiation hit's the local redneck population, and turns them into GUT MUNCHERS! The only thing standing in the way of a regional outbreak are 4 out of luck College students, a local sheriff, and a Ragg-tag group of radio personalities! It stars Tamara Summers, Jennie Short, Robbie Raggs, Tom Stedham, Josh Carples, Jonna Scott, Amber Davis, Michael Dewey, Clay Smith and Rob Clements. The trailer reminds me of Troma Studios and Astron-6 movies which are some of my favorite Indie studios. Check out the trailer below.

The Screams And Dreams Of Indie Artist Moonlyn

MoonlynMoonlyn is an Indie artist that hails from Canada. However her sound transcends borders, demographics and genres. With musical styles that blend elements of electro-pop and goth to create a truly unique and individual style that is all Moonlyn. There are hints of Siousxie and The Banshee melded with the more recent sounds of Kerli. Her songs are a mixture of glam-pop and dark industrial. The music reminds me of a more modern sub-genre known as bubble-goth, a style that Moonlyn has no awareness of, stating to me in a recent interview that “…[She] has never heard of that term. I don't really think of defining what I do musically, I just emit whatever idea inspires me the strongest. I love music and enjoy every type of style and many find their way into my musical cauldron.” Noting that her true motus of inspiration lies with the sounds of Mozart. You can find her singles on Soundcloud and itunes. There isn’t plans as of yet for an album however Moonlyn did tell me that if she releases enough singles to warrant a compilation release then she may just do so.

Moonlyn is not only a musical artist. Her talents are much broader than one field of Inspiration can contain. She is also an Indie pop culture Icon and actress. Most recently landing a role in the coming film “You Found Me” by Lawrence W. Nelson II. The feature is based on his short film that was picked up by BlackFlag TV and is a mash-up up of torture-survival and classic slasher genre. Moonlyn will take on the role of Charlee Risen, a weekender on a trip into nature with her friends for some fresh air, hiking and female bonding- oh and blood soaked screams from nightmarish realities. I had a chance to ask the Indie artist about her role in the film.

ASouthernLife: "You Found Me", Is this your first feature film role? What attracted you to the project?
Moonlyn: No "You Found Me" is not my first feature film. I do venture into different artistic forms of expressing myself, and now and again I gravitate towards acting roles - I find it titillating. [Moonlyn has a role in 2009’s “Silent Sam”].

ASouthernLife:  You play Charlee Risen, tell me about her, what is she like?
Moonlyn: Charlee Risen is a sensuous and feminine artistic soul, those aspects do reside in me and it'll be a calming experience to step into her character.

ASouthernLife:  What is her relationship to the other characters?
moonlyn 2Moonlyn: Charlee is good friends with the rest of the girls that she joins on this weekend adventure. And as I become more familiar with the story I will learn more about the dynamics between these characters.

ASouthernLife:  What did you think after seeing the short film?
Moonlyn: Yummy! Looks like fun ;)

ASouthernLife: Are you a big horror fan?
Moonlyn: Oh definitely.

ASouthernLife:  What is your favorite horror movie? And why?
Moonlyn: Saw. I have my reasons... the main one is a secret.

ASouthernLife:  Do you have any future acting plans after "You Found Me"?
Moonlyn: I never plan too far ahead. I do enjoy working on films, they're a good way to temporarily distract my brain from music, which is good to refresh my artistic senses. If something strikes me again in the future, I'm sure I will want to get involved.

The Struggle Between Friendship And Survival: My Interview With Michelle Van Deyl

you found meMichelle Van Deyl is set to battle the elements of nature and evil in Lawrence W. Nelson II’s feature film adaptation of his powerful but brief short “You Found Me”. The short film was picked up by BlackFlag TV and was well received by fans. It was also a boost to his goal of bringing the story into a larger more dynamic nightmare. The feature film is currently in the early stages of pre-production but with the cast set and story hot in the Indie community “You Found Me” should become a cult classic filled with plenty of gore and screams.

Van Deyl who may not be well known yet has been cast to play the role of Jane Wisemen in the feature film that has five friends on an excursion into nature for some hiking and female bonding only to have to fight for survival while facing unspeakable evils. Michelle Van Deyl lives in Toronto Canada and is very eager to take on this role with the jubilance of a true final girl. However only time will tale if she truly has what it takes to be just that and over come the odds to survive this nightmare. I had a chance to ask her about taking on the role of Jane Wisemen in “You Found Me”.

ASouthernLife:  You play Jane Wisemen in "You Found Me", tell me about your character in the film.

Michelle Van Deyl: Jane is an adventurous person who loves the outdoors which I can relate to because I grew up on Manitoulin Island so I was constantly surrounded by nature. She is also faced with a moral dilemma in the film where she has to make a tough choice between her life or her friends.

ASouthernLife: Is this your first feature film? Are you nervous?

Michelle Van Deyl:This is my first feature film and yes I am nervous -lol, who wouldn't be? I am also very excited about the opportunity and am going to work hard, especially practicing my screaming lol.

ASouthernLife:  What is Jane's relationship to the other characters in "You Found Me"- the "hikers"?

Michelle Van Deyl: The other characters are Jane's close friends . They are very tight and would do anything for each other. I feel like Jane has a protective nature to her friends, especially Dina and Sam. There is some tension between her and Maggie though who like Jane has a strong personality. As the film becomes more intense, conflict arise between them. They both want to lead and take charge but have different attitudes on what to do.

ASouthernLife:  What did you think after seeing the short film? After seeing the short film I love the idea of it being in the woods. The idea of being isolated and out of touch with the rest of the world adds to the horror.

Michelle Van Deyl: Are you a big horror fan? I love horror films but in moderation -lol. I scare very easily so I try to limit how often I watch one. I am not a huge fan of gory movies though,I like to keep that to the imagination. I like more thrillers.

ASouthernLife: Do you have a favorite horror film? And Why?

Michelle Van Deyl: My favorite horror film would have to be between The Shining and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. TCM I saw when I was really young at my uncles farm in the middle of nowhere and I think that was the most scared I have ever been watching a horror film. The Shining I watched for the first time when I was 20 years old and it was a different kind of scared. That movie messes with your mind. Those twins were so scary- lol

If you are as interested in this Indie project as I am then head over to the Facebook Page for “You Found Me” to keep up with the project’s status. Also on Lawrence W Nelson II’s slate is a future horror project reminiscent of the classic era of slasher movies “The Mangled”.  Plus you can always check back on my blog for updates as well as more interviews with the cast of “You Found Me”.

State officials feared water contamination, and demanded the whole county to boil the water and not drink the water. Not knowing the situation going on, one man drinks the water. Teaser Poster Released For Danny Boyle’s “Trance”

poster for Trance 2013“Trance” is a psychological action film hitting theatres in the U.K on March 27th from Danny Boyle. Still no word if there will be a U.S release yet. It stars a James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel. Check out the trailer below.

Fine art auctioneer Simon (McAvoy), in league with a gang led by underworld boss Franck (Cassel), plots the audacious theft of a masterpiece by Goya from a major public auction. When Simon double-crosses the gang during the robbery, Franck retaliates violently and knocks him unconscious.

In the aftermath of the heist, Simon sticks stubbornly – and perhaps shrewdly – to his claim that the violent trauma has left him with no memory of where he stashed the artwork.
Unable to coerce the painting’s location from Simon, Franck and his associates reluctantly join forces with a charismatic hypnotherapist (Dawson) in a bid to get him to talk. But as they journey deeper into Simon’s jumbled psyche the boundaries between reality and hypnotic suggestion begin to blur and the stakes rise faster and far more dangerously than any of the players could have anticipated.

First TV Spot For “Jack The Giant Slayer”

jack2Check out the first TV promo for “Jack The Giant Slayer”. The film is directed by Bryan Singer and stars Stanley Tucci, Ewan McGregor, Warwick Davis, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane, Ewen Bremner, Eddie Marsan, John Kassir and Eleanor Tomlinson. It relies heavily on CGI but if ‘Once Upon A Time’ television series has taught me anything it is a mild circumstantial appreciation for CGI fantasy stuff. The fantasy flick will release in the U.S on March 1st 2013 and in the U.K on March 22nd.

Jack the Giant Slayer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend–and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Check Out The Trailer For Out There Sci-Fi “Upside Down”

upside downThe concept for “Upside Down” is a bit out there even for a sci-fi film with it’s dual reality mirror worlds nestled so close to one another that even romance and whimsical desire are possible. The film is directed by Juan Diego Solanas who directed “The Man Without A Head”. It stars Kirsten Dunst, Kim Sturgess,  Agnieshka Wnorowska, James Kidnie, Neil Napier and Jayne Heitmeyer. The film is yet another example that disproves the stigma that science fiction has no heart.

Kept apart from the girl he has loved his entire life; Adam must fight to reunite with Eden. But the laws of his world as well as the laws of gravity keep him from her. Adam must risk everything to access the forbidden world of affluence that exists literally above him. As he struggles to keep the authorities from discovering him while manipulating the gravitational force that physically pulls him back to his world, Adam faces insurmountable danger in hopes of finding his long-lost love.
