Volturnalia was the roman festival, which was celebrated on August 27th every year. This festival was dedicated to Volturnus, who was a Roman god of water, rivers and fountains. His name was apparently derived from a local Samnite cult. The Volturno river in the area Campania, in southern Italy, was named in his honour. The God Volturnus was honored with feasting, drinking of wine and playing standard roman games. The first floating wind turbine in North America was named after him. Little is known about Volturnus, although scholars have attempted to reconstruct his myth and role in the cultus deorum. Volturnus is known to have been an agricultural God, and surviving fragments show he was specifically a river God.
Like other ancient Gods, his cult was overshadowed and obscured by a religious reformation, probably in the 4th century BCE. By the time of Varro (116 BCE - 27 BCE), a scholar who collected the surviving materials, there were only traces left of Rome's earliest religion. He reported the survival of a Flamen Volturnalis, but found the God to be "obscure".

Check out the first look at ITV's redo of classic horror 'Jekyll & Hyde'. The 10 episode series is an action-drama based on an idea conceived by British actor and author Charlie Higson and inspired by the Robert Louis Stevenson classic. Tom Bateman (Da Vinci’s Demons), Richard E Grant and Coronation Street‘s Natalie Gumede star in the series.
Bateman plays Robert Jekyll, grandson to the original doctor, who seeks his real identity and truth about his 'curse'. In moments of extreme anger or stress, he transforms in Hyde, as the clip released shows.Grant plays Sire Roger Bulstrode, leader of 'The Invisible Men', otherwise known as the M10, the secret government department. Gumede plays Bella, who becomes involved in a love triangle with Robert.

Last year, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: THE SERIES premiered as El Rey Network/Miramax's first scripted drama and drew critical acclaim for the reimagining of Rodriguez's cult classic film From Dusk Till Dawn. On August 25th at (9:00PM EST), the sophomore season of this fan-favorite, supernatural crime saga returns with 10 new episodes that expand the universe of the story from Mexico to the edgy, tricked-out Texas of Rodriguez, who also directs the first episode. And on August 26, Entertainment One will begin to release each episode for purchase on all leading digital platforms.
Season One of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: THE SERIES centered on bank robber Seth Gecko (D.J. Cotrona, Dear John, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and his violent, unpredictable brother Richard "Richie" Gecko (Zane Holtz, Holes, The Perks of Being a Wallflower), who were on the run to Mexico when they encountered former pastor Jacob Fuller (Robert Patrick) and his family, who were taken hostage. Using the family RV to cross the border, chaos ensued when the group detoured to the Titty Twister, a strip club populated by culebras, snake-like ancient creatures who survive by drinking human blood. They were forced to fight until dawn in order to get out alive.
In Season Two, the show travels between Mexico and the edgy, tricked-out Texas of Robert Rodriguez. It also deepens and complicates the core relationships between the characters, while adding new faces and dynamics. Our characters are all living in very separate worlds - Santnico Pandemonium (Eiza Gonzlez, "True Love") and Richie are outside Houston, doing their best Bonnie and Clyde; Seth and Kate (Madison Davenport, "Shameless," Noah) are scraping by South of the Border; and Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia, Quinceanera,"Sons of Anarchy") is protecting his wife and young daughter in the suburbs. Carolos Madrigal (Wilmer Valderrama, "That '70s Show," To Whom it May Concern) and Scott Fuller (Brandon Soo-Hoo, Tropic Thunder, Ender's Game, Incredible Crew) emerge from the Titty Twister, changed men. They will all come together once again - this time facing off against an even bigger threat.
This season, the cast is joined by Danny Trejo (Machete, Machete Kills), who appeared in the original movie as Razor Charlie and Esai Morales ("Criminal Minds," "NYPD Blue"), currently a series regular on "The Brink." Trejo plays The Regulator, a horrifying agent of evil who is summoned to perform a deadly errand and Morales will appear in the role of Lord Amancio Malvado, a figure of terrifying cruelty and power who has a complicated and obsessive relationship with Santnico. They will also be joined by Briana Evigan(Step Up 2), who does a turn as Sonja, an American expatriate working as a tattoo artist in a Mexican mercado. Jake Busey also resumes his guest starring role as Professor Aiden "Sex Machine" Tanner and Demi Lovato makes a guest starring appearance
Aside from Rodriguez, directors who will be behind the camera this season include Edurado Snchez (The Blair Witch Project), Alejandro Bruges (Juan of the Dead), Joe Menendez (Ladrn que roba a ladrn) and Dwight Little (Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers).
FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: THE SERIES is a Miramax production in association with Rodriguez International Pictures, FactoryMade Ventures, and Sugarcane Entertainment. Executive producers are Robert Rodriguez, showrunner Carlos Coto, Diego Gutierrez and FactoryMade Ventures and El Rey Network co-founders John Fogelman and Cristina Patwa and Miramax's Zanne Devine and Daniel Pipski.

Red
Headed Revolution unleashes a tale of a tail in creepy Tailypo short.
The
Appalachian cryptozoology folk tale of “The Tailypo” has been brought to life,
in a terrifying live action film from director Cameron McCasland.
McCasland
had been carrying the Tailypo story around for years stating, “The first time I
heard this legend I was in elementary school, and my teacher told it to us
around Halloween. It always stuck with me, and creeped me out. I wanted to tell
it again, in a way that was frightening, but still accessible in the same way it
was to me as a kid.”
Tailypo
re-teams McCasland with actor David Chattam who had previously appeared as Carl
Degas in his 2014 released slasher film, The Lashman. McCasland said of working
with Chattam, “Dave wasn’t what I had in mind originally when I was casting The
Lashman, but his audition blew me away. He was on set for a day and was just a
joy to work with. I started writing Tailypo with him in mind, but I never told
him until the script was ready. I honestly don’t know if I would have made this
movie if he had turned me down. I told him i have a whole short where you
basically are monologuing to a dog the entire time. Luckily for me, he jumped at
the chance.”
The
Tailypo is voiced by Danielle Geleherter more commonly known as TV horror host
Penny Dreadful in the new England area. McCasland had previously worked with her
on the Emmy nominated 2010 made for television movie The Dreadful Hallowgreen
Special. The short film also gave him the opportunity to re-team with Lashman
director of photography Josh Ickes and composer Thomas Berdinski who performed a
hauntingly original score for the film.
The
movie was shot on location at the Copper Canyon Guntown Ranch in Hopkinsville,
KY. McCasland had previously used the venue for The Lashman, A music video for
country act Florida Georgia Line, and two feature films he co-produced with
director Lee Vervoort, The Truck, and Guntown.
The
Tailypo is the first in a series of shorts McCasland plans to collect for an
anthology series hosted by his longtime collaborator Larry Underwood as seminal
horror host Dr. Gangrene.
The
Tailypo is currently free to view online at redheadedrevolution.com and will be
screening at film festivals around the globe this year.
Cameron McCasland is an Emmy nominated
writer and film producer. Recently he was awarded “Best Indie Director” at the
2015 Indieville TV awards, as well as both an Omni, and a Communicator Award for
his documentary series “I Heard The Devil Say My Name Out Loud” about the making
of Austin Rockers Quiet Company new album “Transgressor”. His newly produced
film “Paternity Leave” is currently touring the film festival circuit. The Texas
born film maker lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Jamie, and two daughters.
