"Red State" and the Westboro Church
Red State will finally see the light of day this Sunday when it premieres at Sundance.
Westboro Church folk aren't taking to kindly to the film. They will actually be outside doing what they are known for and protesting.
Kevin Smith had some choice words for the Westboro church and all of you: Here are the facts: (1) The Westboro Baptist Church are haters of Biblical proportions! “Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, & not suffer sin upon him.” (Lev 19:17) (2) The WBC’s punishment in Hell for their hatred will be administered by the very Jesus they blaspheme daily. “…he shall be tormented with fire & brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, & in the presence of the Lamb: & the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever & ever: & they have no rest day nor night.” (Rev 14:10-11)
The Harvey Boys are seeking the aid of the Mighty Thor, hoping he’ll lay down his hammer and instead pick up a protest sign on our behalf, in a Park City battle of the mega-gods! If he’s in reshoots, we’ll be reaching out to Sigourney Weaver to channel Zuul on our behalf. If she’s not at Sundance this year, we’ll start praying to Krom. And if you don’t help us, Krom? Then to hell witchoo.
For thirty minutes of fun-filled photo-opportunities, the Harvey Boys will peacefully counter-protest the WBC Eccles Theater Protest. All are welcome. Wear YOUR dopey sentiments nobody gives a shit about on a sign of your own making, as you stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the folks who’ve mastered the art of writing utter horseshit on cardboard! BYOS (Bring Your Own Sign)
The scoffing and the mocking will begin sharply at 6pm. Remember: this is a PEACEFUL protest. The only venom you bring is printed on a placard, your only weapon: wit.
"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light,
and light for darkness..." (Isa 5:20)
GOD DOESN’T HATE FAGS OR
ANYBODY ELSE FOR THAT MATTER.
GOD SAVES! THEN, GOD PASSES IT
TO GRETZKY - WHO ROOFS THAT
SHIT, TOP-SHELF! THEN GOD AND
GRETZKY HIGH FIVE & BELLY-BUMP,
CELEBRATING THEIR HOCKEY
PROWESS. AND NEVER ONCE DO
THEY GIVE A SHIT IF ANYBODY’S
GAY OR NOT.

Sam Witwer as Aiden ‘Being Human’ Syfy not so original…
A Vampire, a Werewolf and a Ghost all living under one roof trying to be everything that they mostly aren’t..human. An American version of the British hit…that in my opinion did not need Americanized…but whatever!…probably will still watch it anyway…got a thing for the supernatural and anything that celebrates it.
Syfy's supernatural series Being Human scared up 1.9 million viewers, becoming the most watched winter series launched for the network since 2005.
The series, which tells the story about a vampire, werewolf and ghost who share a Boston brownstone, fell short of the 3.5 million viewers garnered by the network's last series debut, Warehouse 13, in 2009. Being Human did draw 1 million Adults 18-49, including 582,000 women -- the highest percentage of female viewers ever for a Syfy original scripted series telecast, said the network.
Syfy’s version of Being Human just premiered last night, and it gave a taste of what’s to come for the characters who might have some supernatural abilities but also have some very real problems. LA TV Insider Examiner caught up with series star Sam Witwer -- the brooding vampire Aidan who gives into temptation nearly immediately in the premiere, despite making claims that he wants to live a normal life -- to ask him what we can expect from the future episodes for the show and for his character.
On what Witwer finds most interesting about Aidan, whose behavior he says exactly mimics that of an addict:
"It was more about the human aspects, definitely. This drug metaphor isn’t something that was kind of on the page or slightly on the page, this was something that was so obvious. And the way that we shoot some of these scenes, it’s as if you could change the word ‘vampire’ for ‘heroin addict’ … In fact, it’s what I responded to. If there weren’t elements like that, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it."

Teaser for "Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same"
Three lesbian aliens are sent to Earth. Their mission? To have their hearts broken by earthlings so their overactive emotions won’t destroy the ozone of their planet. As the fetching extraterrestrials search for romance on the New York lesbian dating scene, one finds love with Jane, an eager stationery store clerk who is oblivious to the fact that she’s dating an alien. The other two, discovering the neediness of earthling women, connect with each other as they reflect on the beauty of a cheesecake in a revolving dessert case.
Tightly scripted with lo-fi styling and campy DIY effects that would make Ed Wood envious, Codependent mashes up the B-movie and Men in Black and turns it into a witty, wholly original comedy. First-time feature writer/director Madeleine Olnek (her shorts Hold Up and Countertransference screened at the Festival in 2006 and 2009, respectively) embraces the intrinsic hilarity of lesbian life and DIY filmmaking to tell a story about love that transcends galaxies.

New Spartacus Found!
Liam McIntyre has been cast as the new “Spartacus,” replacing Andy Whitfield on the successful cable TV series.
McIntyre takes over the role of the Thracian warrior sold into slavery in the Roman Republic city of Capua – where he rises to become the champion of the city – before leading the slave revolt that ended Season 1. The part was played in the first season of “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” by Andy Whitfield, who was forced to leave the show in order due to health issues. Whitfield gave his blessing to the recasting.
“Since no one can really replace Andy, we realized that we should instead find an actor who can truly lead ‘Spartacus’ forward,” Straz's CEO Chris Albrecht notes. “It was important to us to have Andy endorse the idea of recasting this part, which he did in the same heroic manner that he’s dealt with his whole ordeal. And that, coupled with our fortune in finding a young actor with the gladiator credentials and the acting ability of Liam, makes it easier for us to keep this hit franchise going.”
Liam McIntyre made his mark in his native Australia on such series as “Neighbours,” and “Rush.” He also appeared in the HBO mini-series “The Pacific.” He recently completed his first feature starring role in the independent film Frozen Moments. McIntyre is currently in New Zealand, getting himself into gladiator shape in order to take on that iconic role. Production on the series is slated to resume by Spring of 2011.

James Franco to play "The Night Stalker"
From the NY Post:
Golden Globe-nominated James Franco will play satanic serial killer Richard Ramirez and direct the movie version of true-crime author Philip Carlo's The Night Stalker, Page Six has learned. The "127 Hours" star, making his directing debut, will start shooting this summer when he's on a break from Yale. In 1985, Ramirez went on a rampage of sexual assault and murder, entering homes at night and generating fear throughout Southern California. He was later found guilty of 13 counts of murder, five attempted murders, 11 sexual assaults and 14 burglaries.
The film, also titled "The Night Stalker," will show how Ramirez, currently on death row in California, became a killer. It's being co-produced by Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell and Nicolas Constantine, who also wrote the screenplay.
Constantine said, "Phil Carlo painted such an amazing portrait of Richard Ramirez, the human being, and it's that which drew us all to the project. Sure, Ramirez was a monster -- but Phil investigated how he became that monster, and that's what this film is about.
"This isn't a horror film, nor does it glorify Ramirez in any way," Constantine said. "James Franco shares that vision, and we all agree that he is absolutely the one actor, and now director, who can truly do this very intense role and story justice. "I had no idea if he would do it, though, since it's pretty dark subject matter. They told me he was studying to be a director and this was perfect for him. We watched three short films he made, two of which were dark and one of which was about a serial killer. That confirmed James definitely had this dark side, and it definitely sealed the deal for us. Sure enough, James read the material and responded to it immediately." Carlo died two months ago after a battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. His widow, Laura, said that when Cornell and Constantine optioned the book last year, "he spent many hours talking with them and was very impressed with their vision for this film."

“Suicide Girls Must Die”-NO Really!!
So When twelve nude models for the infamous SuicideGirls.com begin disappearing from a remote cabin, the calendar video they are shooting becomes the first reality horror movie. Released on 12th of March 2010.
So after Shameless went off I was channel surfing and came across this “horror” flick called “Suicide Girls Must Die” . Thinking that this would be a cool movie that I have not had the privilege to see yet I decided to give it a go. Lets just say it is like the “Hills” gave birth to “Rock of Love” afterbirth and got flushed and ended up in Maine.
The premise? Well Sawa Suicide decides to get a bunch of girls who couldn’t make it on any other reality jaunt and send them out to the middle of nowhere and watch them what? scissor? or pose in hopes that Betty Page will roll over and shit bile in her grave. Actually they are gonna make a calendar. On a side note Miami Ink has really had a major social influence on youths of today…so kudo’s Kat…how’s the rash?
First off I have an issue with the writers personality choice of these characters. Like they are all trailer trash uneducated disrespecting morons. WTF?
So anyway as they are trying to shoot this calendar the girls start disappearing one by one…and at first I am like fuckin’ hell they couldn’t show the slaughter scene for that. So for the most part the fear and slasher shit is gonna be implied within the dialogue. To me this sux because if I gotta watch a bunch of atomic betties get trashed and wasted both metaphorical and physically then SHOW ME THE BLOOD!
Later in the flick there are a few guys that magically appear from the woods who are townies, a few pissed off that the girls are there and messing with areas that are family heritage shit and then the ones that are there to see what all the trouble is about. Since only one doesn’t look like some twisted shit from “The Hills Have Eyes” Big whoop! The sheriff is the only actual A1 boner in the film. So really by the time they actually add the blood and gore it kinda looses cred with me because I had to deal with way too much “jersey shore/real hills” crap.
Honestly if you like shows like Miami Ink with a hint of “please god let this come somewhat close to a blair witch thing” type shows or your Jesse James then you will enjoy it for the tits, ass, and twat shots. However if you want your body parts to actually be shown in parts then I suggest leave this be.
Behind the Scene Images From "Grabbers"
