New Trailer Release For “The Lazarus Effect”

A brand new trailer has been released for supernatural thriller “The Lazarus Effect”. The film is directed by David Gelb and hits theatres on February 27th, 2015. “The Lazarus Effect” stars Evan Peters, Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass and Donald Glover. Check out the wickedly thrilling trailer below.

“The Lazarus Effect” follows a group of researchers led by Frank and his fiancé Zoe who've achieved the unimaginable - bringing the dead back to life. After a successful, yet unsanctioned, trial on a newly deceased animal, the team is ready to unveil their breakthrough to the world. When the dean of their university learns of their underground experiments, their project is unexpectedly shut down and their materials confiscated. Frank, Zoe and their team take matters into their own hands, launching a rogue attempt to recreate their experiment, during which things go terribly wrong and one of their own, Zoe, is horrifically killed. Fueled by terror and grief, Frank pushes them to do the unthinkable: attempt to resurrect their first human test subject. Initially, the procedure appears a success, but the team soon realizes something is wrong with Zoe. As her strange new persona reveals itself, the team quickly becomes stuck in a gruesome reality. They are no longer faced with the question .

Impressive First Trailer For “III”

The first trailer has been released for Russian/German collaborative horror “III”. The footage is an impressive montage of cinematography and visual effects that stun. “III” is directed by Pavel Khvaleev and Polina Davydova, Lyubov Ignatushko, Evgeniy Gagarin. This one is expected to be released later this year. The trailer has me paying attention to this one, looking out for that release date!

A small European town, where sisters Ayia and Mirra live, gets struck down by an unknown disease which takes many lives. Following their mother's death, the younger sister falls ill. Having realized that conventional medicine is useless in the face of the sister's disease, Ayia seeks help from Father Herman, a parish priest and a close family friend. In his house she finds books that are very far from the conventional religion. She gets to know that only penetration into Mirra's sick subconscious mind and discovery of the true cause of her disease will give her a chance to save her sister. Ayia is ready to go through this terrifying ritual, dive into the depths of the subconscious mind, and face the demons residing there.

My Review Of Horror Short “Bedevil”

Mikel Ledesma’s horror short “Bedevil” is a furious and emotional breakdown of obsession. The film takes on an ultra-indie, grittiness as verite scenes capture an intense dichotomy between what we think we know, and and what we fear about those we hold closest to us. “Bedevil” follows a young man facing the depth of horror as a stalker torments him. The film stars Michael Beckhart, Mikel Ledesma, Madeleine Garcia and Triston Pullen.

“Bedevil” isn’t a new story, stalking has gone from the hidden, shadowy depths of society to permeate the subgenres of horror cinema. Mostly shock/exploitation/torture-porn nightmares that have females victims by cruel intentions. Then later as role reversal hit the story arcs we entered into a new domain of hell that many around the world deal with outside of fictional situations. It is a macabre phenom that also plagues the LGBT community as well, and until recently most of the films held a more playful view of the story of stalkers. Mikel Ledesma has not done so with “Bedevil”.

Ledesma takes a more brutal, raw, emotional look into stalkerama. “Bedevil” is rich with dark, surreal atmosphere that reminds me of 70’s low budget films like “Honeymoon Killers” and “Criminally Insane”. In the short 12 minute cut I screened, Ledesma gave me fast, relatable, earthy horror that felt relentless as the story unfolds. The special effects are rife with blood, abuse, and psychotica. The cast do falter somewhat in delivering the dialog but only in a few scenes which quickly get forced out of your mine from the high intensity and overal emotionality of “Bedevil”. For the most part every think clicks on a simple, deliciously monstrous level of horror. I found myself really imagining just how nightmarish this short film would be given the feature film treatment that “Bedevil” begs for.

New Stills And Featurette For “Invasion Of The Undead”

Check out the stills and new featurette released for upcoming horror “Invasion Of The Undead”. Independent production company MonsterBuster Entertainment has released the first clip and behind-the-scenes footage from its upcoming feature film “Invasion of the Undead”, an 80's-style horror comedy in the vein of The Evil Dead and Big Trouble in Little China. The ambitious $17,000 indie film will premiere February 10^th at Atlanta's historic Plaza Theatre, with a digital release to follow on March 3rd.

This behind-the-scenes featurette showcases Belle, one of the film's many creatures who is created via a mixture of live-action and stop-motion animation. Partially funded through Indiegogo, Invasion follows Allison, a young woman who gets more than she bargained for when she enlists the aid of two freelance paranormal exterminators to combat an undead infestation in her new home. It is the first film in a planned four-part series and the cornerstone of a MonsterBuster Cinematic Universe in which characters from past and present MonsterBuster productions will cross paths as the series progresses- think a horror version of Marvel or Star Wars.

                        

CW To Bring Back Classic Horror Anthology Series

The CW rules when it comes to sci-fi and supernatural drama. I spend more nights watching their shows with TVD, The Originals, Supernatural, Arrow, The Flash, The 100. Not to mention the coming soon series iZombie. Now CW have announced their order for classic horror anthology series “Tales From The Darkside”. I am so amped to hear this news!

CW is steady rockin’ primetime. The network has tapped Joe Hill to script the pilot episode for the new “Tales From The Darkside”. As far the production front, Hill has signed on along with Alex Kurtzman,Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Mitch Galin and Jerry Golod.

New Trailer & UK Release For “Silverhide”

Check out the new trailer for “Silverhide” formerly known by “Pounce”. Along with the trailer came the UK release date . “Silverhide” will be released on April 6th, 2015. The film is directed by Keith R Robinson and stars Kelly Wines, Lucy Clarvis, Jordan Murphy, John Hoye, Matt Brewer.

“Silverhide” is a horror/thriller film about a group of conspiracy theorists that are secretly watching a Top Secret military base in the desolate Welsh mountains. They are looking for experimental and highly classified test aircraft to report about in a magazine, when they suddenly discover a Top Secret and highly lethal creature (secretly discovered in the 1920s) which the military and Government are testing whose fur has the ability to turn invisible in moon light. The film follows their plight as they are hunted both by the creature (which the Army has nick named "The Silverhide") and the military who will stop at nothing to keep their classified specimen a secret.

First Official Poster Released For “Christmas At Dracula's”

Check out the first official poster for Simon McKeon’s horror comedy “Christmas At Dracula's” . The 70’s B-movie and Hammer Horror inspired poster was released on the film’s Facebook page. Christmas at Dracula's in a low-budget feature length film shot in Co. Cork, Ireland and told through the eyes of The Invisible Man.

Dracula has hit rock bottom, so with the help of his noble companion Igor, he decides to throw the greatest Christmas party of all time. He invites to this - The Wolfman, Medusa, The Wicked Witch, Frankenstein, Dr Jekyll and The Invisible Man. But when two killers arrive at the door, things slowly begin to spiral out of control. And Dracula's faith lies in the hands of one creature...death himself!

Zombie Spoof “The Walking Deceased” Gets Picked Up By ARC

The zombie comedy spoof “The Walking Deceased” has been acquired by ARC Entertainment. The distribution company picked up the film for North American markets. “The Walking Deceased” is a jab at the zombie crazed films and television shows permeating popular culture today. The film is directed by Scott Dow and stars Tim Ogletree, Joey Oglesby, Dave Sheridan, Troy Ogletree.

When a police officer wakes up in a hospital to find out he is in the middle of a zombie apocalypse he will do anything to find his family even sacrifice twitter. “The Walking Deceased” is due out March 20th on VOD with an April 24th DVD release to follow.

Scream Factory Acquires “Bloodsucking Bastards”

Scream Factory has acquired workplace horror/comedy “Bloodsucking Bastards”. The film is directed by Brian James O’Connell and stars Fran Kranz, Emma Fitzpatrick, Pedro Pascal, Joey Kern, Yvette Yates, Joel Murray. “Bloodsucking Bastards” will land theatrically, on VOD and disc formats later in 2015.

An anxious office worker learns his new boss (and longtime rival) is a vampire that is feasting upon and turning many of his co-workers into the bloodthirsty undead.

Poster And Trailer Released For “Something In The Woods”

The cryptid adventure horror is directed by David Ford and Tony Gibson, based on true events that have a family driven from their home in this suspenseful, surreal nightmare. “Something In The Woods” stars Ford, Angela Harger, Kayden Grisham, Jon Bonzor, Terry Milam and Mike L. Hall.

Based on one family's account of the strange and terrifying experiences they had in the late 1960s that forced them from their secluded home in the woods. John Hartman is forced to stand his ground on a small family farm against something lurking and terrifying in the surrounding woods. It is a real life event still told around campfires today.
