'Supernatural' Third man out

Supernatural Episode 6.3
“The Third Man”
Written By: Ben Edlund
Directed By: Bob Singer
Original Airdate: 8 October 2010

In This Episode...
Sam and Dean investigate the biblical deaths of three cops.  The first turned to a puddle of blood.  The second was covered with huge, hideous boils - inside and out.  The third had his brain eaten away by locusts.  The boys call Cas, and he explains that these deaths could only be as a result of Moses’s staff.  Several of heaven’s weapons were stolen, and in the wrong hands - Raphael’s soldiers - they could bring about the apocalypse the Winchesters fought so hard to avoid.
Turns out the three cops shot a young man, then planted a gun on him to make it a just killing.  The guy’s little brother prayed and prayed for the cops to suffer consequences.  His prayers were answered by Balthazar, who sold the kid a small piece of Moses’s staff to use to get his own vengeance.  Balthazar is one of Raphael’s soldiers.  They want to rule heaven because they are “traditionalists” and want to get the apocalypse back on track.  Whoever has the weapons wins the war.
Cas, Dean and Sam find Balthazar, who calls for Raphael and a few of his cronies.  A very brief battle ensues (see below).  The lackeys are killed off almost instantly. Balthazar turns Raphael to salt with the help of a magic crystal.  Dean traps Balthazar in a ring of holy fire, but once Balthazar gives the kid his soul back, Cas sets him free.

"Yellow Brick Road" Promo Look

“One Morning in New England, 1940, the entire population of Friar New Hampshire – 572 people – walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness. They left behind their clothes, their money, all of their essentials. Even their dogs were abandoned, tied to posts and left to starve. No One knows why. A search party dispatched by the U.S. Army eventually discovered the remains of nearly 300 of Friar’s evacuees. Many had frozen to death.

Others were cruelly and mysteriously slaughtered. The bodies of the remaining citizens are still unaccounted for. Over the years, a quiet cover-up operation managed to weave the story of Friar into the stuff of legends and backwoods fairy tales. The town has slowly repopulated, but the vast wilderness is mostly untracked, with the northern-most stretches off limits to local hunters and loggers.

In 2008, the coordinates for the “YELLOWBRICKROAD” trail head were declassified. The first official expedition into a dark and twisted wilderness will attempt to solve the mystery of the lost citizens of Friar…and reach the end of the trail.”

UK's 'Dead Set' Comes to America

The United Kingdom's mini zombie series Dead Set finally finds a home in the States thanks to the folks over at IFC.

Dead Set   Trailer   E4
Uploaded by gotti57. - Watch feature films and entire TV shows.
Synopsis: "Britain has been hit by an epic problem. The dead are returning to life and attacking the living. The people they kill get up and kill. And it's spreading like wildfire. Within two days, 80 percent of the population is dead. No one knows how this problem started or how widespread it has become, because there are no news channels anymore.

The entire social structure has collapsed in the space of 48 hours. Tiny groups of survivors are holed up across the country, unaware of each other, besieged inside abandoned houses, abandoned hospitals - abandoned anything. Surrounded by growing hordes of the living dead - mindless eating machines powered by raw instinct - they fight to survive, around the clock.

Few people remain who aren't worried about this living nightmare: the remaining contestants in the reality TV game show, "Big Brother." Cocooned in the safety of the Big Brother house, they're blissfully unaware of the horrific events unfolding in the outside world... until eviction night when the walking dead descend on the studio.

In a cruel reflection of the game show they were cast in, one by one they fall victim - devoured by the hungry, unthinking masses outside. Staying alive requires teamwork - a tricky job when you're a group specifically selected by TV producers to not get along and drive each other crazy."
DEAD SET will air on IFC Monday October 25th through till Friday 29th at 12pm ET. Then, on Halloween night, the channel will host a marathon of all 5 episodes back to back beginning at 7:30pm ET.

"And Soon The Darkness" Trailer

"Stephanie (Heard) and Ellie's (Yustman) vacation to an exotic village in Argentina is a perfect "girl's getaway" to bask in the sun, shop and flirt with the handsome locals. After a long night of bar-hopping, the girls get into an argument, and Stephanie heads out alone in the morning to cool off. But when she returns, Ellie has disappeared. Finding signs of a struggle, Stephanie fears the worst, and turns to the police for help. But the local authorities have their hands full already - with a string of unsolved kidnappings targeting young female tourists. Skeptical of the sheriff's competency, she enlists help from Michael (Urban), an American ex-pat staying at their hotel. Together they go on a frantic search for Ellie, but Stephanie soon realizes that trusting his seemingly good intentions may drag her farther from the truth. With danger mounting, and time running out, Stephanie must find her friend before darkness falls."

Friday Nights with Hammer Films....

Young workers are dying because of a mysterious epidemic in a little village in Cornwall. Doctor Thompson is helpless and asks professor James Forbes for help. The professor and his daughter Sylvia travel to Thomson. Terrible things happen soon, beyond imagination or reality. Dead people are seen near an old, unused mine. Late people seem to live suddenly. Professor Forbes presumes that black magic is involved and someone has extraordinary power. He doesn't know how close he is: the dead become alive because of a magic voodoo-ritual, and so they must serve their master as mindless zombies...

Some followers of Satan want to sacrifice the niece of the Duke of Richeleau. But they did not think that the duke might be more powerful than their master.

When his brother Charles Spalding mysteriously dies, Harry Spalding and his wife Valerie decide to move to the inherited cottage in a small village in the country. They are coldly received by the locals, with the exception of the bartender and owner of a pub Tom Bailey, who welcome them. His weird neighbor Dr. Franklyn, who lives with his beautiful daughter Anna, tries to persuade them to sell the house and leave the place, but the couple decides to stay. Harry and Valerie find that the locals are being killed by some snake and they feel threatened. When Anna asks for help and they trespass Dr. Franklyn's house, they find the horrible truth hidden in the place.

In the early 20th century, a Gorgon takes human form and terrorizes a small European village by turning its citizens to stone.

A 12-year-old orphan who has just inherited a fortune is trapped on an island with his uncle, a former British intelligence commander who intends to kill him. A young girl is the boy's only ally against the sarcastic uncle, who uses hypnotism, a pool of sharks, fire, and poisonous mushrooms as weapons.

'Godzilla' Comics On The Way

From the Press Release
The biggest star in motion pictures prepares to wreak havoc once again! IDW Publishing is thrilled to announce a partnership with Toho Co., Ltd., to create all-new GODZILLA comics. Starting in 2011, Godzilla will smash his way back onto the scene with a cast of characters from his films never before seen in comics.
“This new series will be monsters and mayhem, but most importantly, it’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Yukio Kotaki of Toho. “Godzilla has been gone from comics for too long, and we feel that IDW is the perfect company to welcome him back in 2011.”
In addition to the King of the Monsters himself, the new comics from IDW Publishing and Toho Co., Ltd., will feature many of Godzilla’s friends and foes, including MOTHRA™, KING GHIDORAH™, RODAN™ and more that have never before been featured in an American comic book series alongside Godzilla. With an impressive cast of monsters both old and new, IDW’s series will treat fans to both familiar themes and original takes on the pop culture legends that have stomped, smashed, and fought their way across movie screens for over five decades.
“Not only is Godzilla known worldwide, he’s loved worldwide, too. Having a film career with more than 25 movies and going on a 56-year span pretty much solidifies you as a legend, and IDW is really looking forward to contributing to that legacy,” said Chris Ryall, Chief Creative Officer and Editor-in Chief for IDW Publishing. “We wanted Godzilla to return to comics, but this time we wanted him to have some company. I think fans will be pleased with the monster guest appearances, which will really offer something for every fan of these films. There are the classic characters, but there are also a few surprises, too.”
Debuting in February 2011, fans can expect to see a number of unique storylines from some of the industry’s top creators.

New "The Thing" Banner Up

The Thing was going to be classified as a prequel even though production company would much rather call it a ‘”remake” to the original since it appears that most of the storyline hangnails the original anyhow. See The Thing April 29, 2011.
