“The Storm”

I have to thank Bryan Wolford for letting me know about this film because anything that has a claim like “Night of the Creeps with Roller Girls” is bound to be a fun gory film.

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.
Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.
Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth.
Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Trailer for “Doomsday Book”

“Doomsday Book” is a South Korean sci-fi horror action film that throws zombies, robots, the end of the world, and salvation into one impressive visual story.
Stars Kim Kang-Woo, Kim Gyu-Ri, Ryoo Seung-Bum, and Song Sae-Byeok. This will show in March in South Korea. I am hoping it receives a wider audience sometime in the near future.
Check out the trailer….

Bringin’ the dead back to life- just like Jesus!

Charmed Apocalypse Pictures base in Hampshire England is a UK production company on the verge of the Zombie evolution. they are going beyond the apocalypse angle of the zombie craze and entering a whole new realm of play by bringing the dead back to life. A concept that quite frankly is needed in the Zombie genre, you know to keep it freshly undead so to speak.
I love the genre but to be honest at the current rate of production of material on the subject that is coming out now by the time the real one hits people will be so over it they will be welcoming the death! That said it is still one of the most awesome-est sub genres of horror ever conceived. I just feel that this new take on the whole thing will give it that new dose of macabre that the Zombie horde needs to stay relevant and vital in the first half of the second decade of the 21st century.
The masterminds behind this evolution of the undead story telling are Andy Phelps and Jake Hawkins both with a great desire, no a need, to bring quality low-budget horror to the masses. No really it says so on their website!
Here is the tagline for “Zombie Resurrection” – ‘Death amongst the living is better than life amongst the dead’. As quoted by Sykes played by Eric Colvin. The film also is set to star Simon Burbage (Gandhi), Jim Sweeney (Mac). They are currently fielding budget concerns with a campaign on Indiegogo.com. Check out the promo trailer for the film below…

15 months after the zombie apocalypse, a group of survivors are forced to take refuge in an abandoned school, where they encounter a mysterious zombie with the power to bring the undead back to life.
Zombie Resurrection is a darkly humorous low-budget horror film set 15 months after the zombie apocalypse. Since the outbreak, pockets of survivors live in isolated stockades dotted around the country, and so successful has this separation been that there have been no new infections for months.
The zombies have decayed away; deteriorating to slow, shambolic, toothless pests.
We join a group of eight survivors in the middle of a six-day march across the badlands, moving from one of the smaller stockades to the central most-populous hub. A party of people all dealing with the end of the world in their own way – the weekend soldier; the skittish prisoner; the unnecessarily violent veteran; the middle-class parent and his bizarrely well-adjusted daughter; the foul-mouthed chav; the idealistic zombie-rights campaigner; the pregnant religious zealot.
En route, the party leader has a freakishly unlucky encounter with a zombie, and loses a leg. With night-time quick approaching and the nearby horde lured by the smell of blood, the party are forced to seek refuge inside an abandoned school. There they encounter the first ripe zombie that they’ve seen in months; less than 24 hours since infection, the zombie is fast, powerful and absolutely terrifying.
Convinced that there must be other survivors in the building, a faction splits away from the group to investigate, and discovers a gathering of zombies involved in a bizarre resurrection ceremony. A mysterious serene zombie lays his hands upon one of the horde, who violently returns to life. Petrified, the man struggles to escape but is immediately re-devoured; a continual recycling of the horde that keeps them fresh and extraordinarily dangerous.
As the party fight to understand the mysteries of the school, they are confronted with their first real test of survival since the beginning of the outbreak. They rescue another survivor, a psychotic denizen whose only memories are of being brutally devoured a hundred times over, and attempt to kidnap the mysterious zombie from the midst of his horrifying congregation. Is he the answer to the zombie plague? How much faith can you have in something that science can’t explain?
As tensions build among the group the characters wrestle with issues of belief, guilt and self-interest. With the party fractured, a deadly balancing act develops between survival and heroism, in an increasingly splatter-ridden game of cat-and-mouse through to a gore-tastic climax.

“The Amazing Spiderman” Trailer

This is the story I loved most as a kid watching the cartoon every Saturday morning and later after school on the weekdays. Spiderman battling The Lizard. It think between this cartoon , the Sleestacks and the 80's V series later is why I still believe Reptilians are among us now! It usually came on before those after school specials.
The Amazing Spider-Man, in theaters July 3, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

A disturbing take on “Would You Rather”

I just started watching a British panel show hosted by Graham Norton on BBC America with the same title.
Anyway other than the title there are little similarities between this film and the television show. The Brit show at times can be funny instead of mundane however this film will more than likely cause body flinching and if we are lucky –nightmares!
The film stars Brittany Snow, Jeffrey Combs, and Sasha Grey

Desperate to help her ailing brother, a young woman agrees to compete in a deadly game of "Would You Rather," hosted by a sadistic aristocrat.

Ok first let me say that anything previous I stated about not caring for this show because I prefer the Brit version is no longer valid. Be Apart Of “Zompocalypso” Project

20120124085512-Zompocalypso-Poster-BIG
In 2012, two men retreated to a remote farmhouse to await the Apocalypse. Sh*t got real.
Motivated by growing public fear that humanity will meet its doom in 2012, Corn Bred Films is preparing to descend on the Joplin, MO area this spring to create Zompocalypso, an improvised found-footage comedy with a sprinkle of horror.
What ZOMPOCALYPSO has going for it:
  1. Chris Meister (actor, writer) has appeared in numerous features, television episodes and commercials in the past decade, including Office Space, The Dilemma, The Chicago Code, and The Playboy Club. In college at the University of Missouri, Chris became friends and performed in several plays with Jon Hamm, whom Chris assures us is "a helluva guy."
  2. Pete Biagi (director of photography) whose body of work includes over thirty short and 20 feature length films and documentaries. He was featured in the first season of Project Greenlight as the cinematographer for the feature film Stolen Summer. Pete’s feature credits include PayBack, Return to Me, and HellCab as well as the award winning indie feature Normal Life, and the television series Cupid. He also operated camera on Robert Altman’s last two films, The Company and A Prairie Home Companion. Other notable credits include Jeff Garlin’s I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With and Diminished Capacity, starring Matthew Broderick and Alan Alda.
  3. Mike Manship (actor, writer) is an actor, writer and improviser originally from Cary, NC, where he performed professionally with ComedySportz. He has studied with instructors from ComedySportz, iO, The Annoyance, The Neofuturists, Upright Citizens’ Brigade, Second City and ImprovBoston. He also wrote the book for T: An MBTA Musical, an award-winning musical, and the novel CAMBRIDGE STREET
  4. Eric Anderson (writer, director, producer) is the writer of several award-winning short films and screenplays. His screenplay BLACK RIVER was optioned by ROCK ON FILMS! and currently has Shoreline Entertainment attached as the international sales agent for the film. Another film, OTHER PLANS, is set for production in April of 2012. A third screenplay, INK, is currently looking for funding, with Pulitzer prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts (August: Osage County), Tony Award winner Deanna Dunagen, and Jim True-Frost (The Wire, Singles, Diminished Capacity) attached.
  5. A GREAT story. Not good, GREAT. Because if you’re shooting for anything less than great, you shouldn’t make a film.
  6. Great supporters like you.
What ZOMPOCALYPSO DOESN’T have:
  1. Enough money to make the film. You’ve already begun to help change that, but there’s a bit more to be done. Share the link. “Like” the page. Post about the film to your friends. It would make a difference.

Berg directs this epic action-adventure also produced by Scott Stuber (Couples Retreat), Sarah Aubrey (The Kingdom), Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir of Hasbro (the Transformers franchise), along with Duncan Henderson (Master and Commander) and Jeffrey Silver (300). New ”Riddick” Image & Info!

New production still from the next “Chronicles of Riddick” film. Been waiting for more on this since the tease in 2009 and it seems since last falls sketch's from concept work things have been coming regularly from the production. Yeah!
riddicknew
Synopsis:
The latest chapter of the saga that began with 2000's hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004's The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.
The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won't leave the planet without Riddick's head as their trophy.
Riddick also sees the return of Karl Urban (Star Trek) as Vaako and introduces to the series previously announced cast member Jordi Molla as Santana, the arrogant captain of the mercenary ship; Matt Nable (Killer Elite) as Boss Johns, a man looking for answers; Katee Sackhoff (TV's "Battlestar Galactica") as the Nordic mercenary Dahl; and Bokeem Woodbine (upcoming Total Recall) as bounty hunter Moss. Rounding out the cast are Dave Bautista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption), Conrad Pla (Immortals), Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto), Nolan Funk (TV's "Aliens in America") and two-time Grammy Award-nominated singer Keri Hilson.
The film will be released by Universal Pictures in the U.S., and Lionsgate is handling international sales.
