Zombies have invades the Philippines! This makes good story sense because they have a strong history of culture and death intertwined. Almost rivaling Latin America. There is this whole population of citizens who live in the largest cemeteries in exchange for keeping the crypts clean. Set that scene to the dead clawing and digging their way up and out into the night in need of flesh and it would be hard for a movie to fail!
Set to come out sometime in 2011.
A coming of age story.
A coming together of friends and family story.
A coming of Zombadings story.
Coming sooner.

Hurricane Katrina strikes Louisiana, laying waste to New Orleans and much of the Louisiana coast. Some see it as God's punishment, others as a natural disaster with terrible repercussions, plenty folk call it a zombie apocalypse, others just say s*** happens. But every hoodoo slinger this side of the Mason Dixon Line knows that a boko named Duv Alier used the hurricane to bind the loa spirit named Papa Ghede, The Lord of the Dead. With Papa Ghede no longer holding the doors to the land of the dead, the spirits have returned to the world, possessing the living. The only people to remain free from possession were those happy few who were spiritually strong enough to fight off the loa, or those with the gris gris charms to protect themselves. A group of slingers, going by the names of Doctor John, Reese and Shaner wander the back-roads of the South, scavenging for food and killing any zombies that get in their way. A radio broadcast from a whiskey drinking rogue disc jockey named Mama Juice tells of a powerful blues song that, when played by a slinger, can defeat Duvalier, free Papa Ghede, and send the loa spirits back to the land of the dead for good. The slingers make their way to the station through a post apocalyptic landscape filled with zombies on a collision course with Duvalier, his psychotic minions and their own troubled past. Get some.

A Short Essay 'Parallels Of Religious Abuse of Power and Social Terrorism'
A SHORT ESSAY ON THE PARALLELS OF RELIGIOUS ABUSE OF POWER AND SOCIAL TERRORISM
RELIGIOUS ABUSE OF POWER AS AFFECTIONAL MIND CONTROL EQUAL TO SOCIAL TERRORISM: LEGALIZED REINFORCEMENT OF SPIRITUAL OPPRESSION.
It is my belief that organized religion has used superstition as a form of mind control, in an abusive role, to keep people confined within the constraints of legalized oppression by forcefully influentual means of social governments, equal to the fanatical views of religious beliefs, leading to the evolution of social terrorism. Psychologists define superstition as this "it involves the formation of a false association between a response and a reinforcer when there is no cause-and-effect relationship between the two". This does not suggest, by the professionals definition that they believe religion is equal to superstition. However I personally feel that religion falls under this psychological phenomenon. Webster's defines religion in several ways. I am not going to transcribe all of them here for obvious reasons so here are a couple that are relevant to this topic, "belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe" and "a cause, a principle, or an activity persued with zeal or conscientious devotion". Niether superstition nor religion are defined as needing grounded, scientific, or factual evidence of supernatural existence. (On a side note, constitutionally this would fall under legislative ecknowledgement as "heresay") I myself have a strong indulgence of superstitious practice. For example, I have a strong urge to place spiritual based symbols around my living enviornment. I have a crucifix and an egyptian amulet of the dead hanging over the mirrors in my bedroom that are not significant to my daily use. I also have various tribal "spirit masks" and cultural based gargoyles positioned throughout my room and overhead in the four corners of the room. In moments of eventual anxiety I make the sign of the cross. I am niether catholic nor pagan in my religious heritage. I have no logistical reason nor evidence that these personal indulgences benefit my daily affairs nor do I protest or impose these superstitions on others, that is my main problem with religious doctrine being mirrored and imposed in the world's governments inscribed and issued laws and codes, which are designed to bring structure to social communities. This very moment and for the past several decades there has been an increasing battle to define the seperation of church and state and its legal implementation into society. The hypocrisy is that even as they legislate this they habitually indulge in religious based practices, such as "In god we trust", the "swearing in" of officials and institutions, therefore influencing through suggestive and unconscious means thier inability to seperate the very concept of "seperation of church and state", symbolically imposing personal belief on social governing.
In the past the church has proved its overwhelming control over the masses by inforcing monetary payment for personal salvation. In certain instances they have inforced high taxes on legal prostitution while at the same time dictating when the prostitutes would conduct business, even controlling when and where they would live, eat, and earn thier living. Another instance shows the true terroristic nature of religious order. During the crusades the knights demanded inflated monetary payments and the relinquishment of holy relics from the moslem population. When thier demands where not met thousands of unarmed moslems were slaughtered, men, women, and children. Situations such as these have been documented even until this very decade in societies where the ruling powers were raised based on religious footing and influence. Even today governments are using religion to enforce and excuse extreme atrocities against thier own peoples and foreign peoples. Laws are made and carried out based on "religious moralities" in order to oppress and subjugate segments of society whose ideals and principles are deemed undesirable or segregant, based on religious beliefs written into laws.
Labeling religious authority over government laws as being equal to social terrorism may sound extreme, however by allowing a structural belief of supernatural presence to supercede the logical principles of governing society based solely upon unfactual and arguementative spiritual ideals is in direct violation of the ability for implementation of just and equal concept of a free society, of the people, for the people, by the people. The allowance of religious convictions to be imposed on the people through governmental reinforcement does give rise to conflict and instability, which in return creates fanatical and violent actions to gain mental control over cultural and social order. In fact the very definition of terrorism is "the unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence to intimidate or coerse societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons".
(note: this is my opinion)

"Season of the Witch" Clip
In the supernatural thriller Season of the Witch, Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence. A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Robert Sheehan) join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl. When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardizes the knight’s pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force.

New "Vanishing on 7th Street" Images
VANISHING ON 7TH STREET hits VOD next Friday, January 7 and limited theatrical released February 18.
Here's the official synopsis:
"From director Brad Anderson (SESSION 9, THE MACHINIST, TRANSSIBERIAN) comes VANISHING ON 7TH STREET, a terrifying, apocalyptic thriller that taps into one of humankind’s most primal anxieties: fear of the dark. An unexplained blackout plunges the city of Detroit into total darkness, and by the time the sun rises, only a few people remain—surrounded by heaps of empty clothing, abandoned cars and lengthening shadows. A small handful of strangers that have survived the night (Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo and newcomer Jacob Latimore) each find their way to a rundown bar, whose gasoline-powered generator and stockpile of food and drink make it the last refuge in a deserted city. With daylight beginning to disappear completely and whispering shadows surrounding the survivors, they soon discover that the enemy is the darkness itself, and only the few remaining light sources can keep them safe. As time begins to run out for them, darkness closes in and they must face the ultimate terror."
First Look at Tomar-Re, Green Lantern's Mentor
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

"Dracula 3D" Begins Shooting In February
Dario Argento's "Dracula 3D" begins shooting in February and if this was not Argento I would say enough fucking 3D shit already! I have watched 3D and just as in the 80's I don't get it. Maybe my eyes are defective but honestly I don't see any difference as far as my picture going experience. The only thing I have noticed is "thank the gods I don't have to fucking wear glasses" because I would MaGoo it through life! However this is Dario Argento and it is going to be a true period Dracula film that is going to stick to Bram's vision of the Dark Seductive Demon of History.
According to HorrorBid.com ..."The film will be a period set faithful adaption of the novel, it will begin shooting in Italy and Hungary in February. The movie will be made in English. Not much more information is known at this time but we know some of you blood suckers will be interested in this news hot of the wire."
