Ah, the pleasure that is “Demonic Toys”. This film has to be the second best film from Full Moon Direct for me personally. Next to “Puppet Masters” the classic tale of toys brought to life by a demonic entity that desires a rebirth into the flesh is one of the best puppetry styled horror tells ever made. Then again I have said time and time again that I am partial to stories about demonic forces or physical demons running rampant. This tale of terror combines all those elements in a fun and gory visual delight.
This particular gem from the mind of Charlie Band was directed by Peter Manoogian and stars Tracy Scoggins, Bentley Mitchum, Daniel Cerny, Michael Russo, Berry Lynch, and Ellen Dunning. The story is set in a warehouse were overstocked toys are kept. This movie has a classic them that ran through many late 80’s and early 90’s films. The story of black market guns sold on the streets of the inner city. Something that the NRA has fought very hard to downplay over the years.

This movie is great in the visual aspects of having childhood playthings twisted into demonic creatures that bleed green, speak blasphemously, and kill with enthusiasm. Dolls that curse, bears that mutate into monstrous were-beasts and toy robots that shoot real lasers. Classic mayhem with a cheeky fun concept. “Demonic Toys” is a great popcorn flick with humor, gore, and some nudity as well as a delightful story of demons trying to take over the world. Plus the fact that the demon prefers the body of a little boy- what’s more evil than that? How could you not love this movie?!
