Films have dealt with the subject of dibbuks in the past but none have brought the Jewish evil spirit/ demon to the forefront of paranormal conversation like “The Possession” movie has. The film is based on an actual case where a mysterious dibbuk box was purchased on ebay after which strange things begin to happen. The film version though has a little more magic added than the actual story but that doesn’t dispel the fact that it did happen. The dibbuk is considered the most feared and dangerous of demonic entities just as the movie tag says “Fear The Demon That Doesn’t Fear God”. Sam Raimi’s “The Possession” hits theaters on August 31st and just to get you into the mood to explore the story of the dibbuk box is this cool featurette about that very demonic topic.
