Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that a tentpole feature film uniting Batman and Superman can be expected in 2015. This announcement comes in no small part to seeing Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder’s success at the box office which has sent DC live action material soaring higher than the Bat-Signal and with the exhilaration of the Man Of Steel rushing to aid a damsel in distress.
Zack Snyder is slated to direct with Cavill returning as the Man of Steel as well as fellow cast members Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane.
In a statement about the news Snyder exclaimed his excitement stating “[…I can’t wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter,” Snyder said in a statement. “Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world.” He also made clear his enthusiasm to see Cavill’s return to the role. Snyder will write the screen play with David Goyer (Man Of Steel).
“Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack’s continuing vision for the DC Universe,” said DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson in a separate statement.
So really the only big question is WHO WILL BE OUR NEW BATMAN? Once again I have to give my vote to Sam Witwer or Sam Worthington…
