Chiller TV gets Original Movies and New Original Special

Chiller will look to build on the ratings success of its first original special with the rollout of two original films and a new special, the network announced Tuesday.

Among the original film titles slated for 2011 is Steve Niles' Remains, which follows the two lone survivors of a bizarre accident that reduced most of the world's population to zombies, said network officials. The movie, written by John Doolan and directed by Colin Theys, is based on a graphic novel by Steven Niles (30 Days of Night).

Also, Brian Keene's Ghoul -- based on a horror novel of the same name -- follows a group of young friends who risk their lives to stop a rash of disappearances in their town.
Following up on the success of its December Chiller 13: The Decade's Scariest Movie Moments, the network will air later this year Chiller 13: Horror's Creepiest Kids which takes a look back at the 13 all-time creepiest kids in horror.
The network is hoping its new slate of original programming will continue its ratings growth. Since officially receiving Nielsen ratings in June 2010, Chiller's primetime ratings have grown double digits, up 47% in Adults 18-49 and 20% in Adults 25-54, said the network.
