Coming off an incredible festival run, Vidar the Vampire debuted at The Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund, with a U.S. premiere at Filmquest, and went on to play
at Screamfest in Los Angeles, Fantasy Film Festival in Germany, Fantastic Fest, Monsters of Film, Panic Film Festival, the Brussels International Fantasy Film Festival, and most recently at Fantaspoa.
Comparable in tone to breakout indie
What We Do in the Shadows, the film has been hailed by critics as “Something truly original,” “a highly original first feature,” and “a hilariously gruesome and heartfelt tale.”
“Signing with Dread Central Presents simply felt like coming home,” says co-writer, co-director and star Thomas Aske Berg. “It is the perfect place for freaks and geeks, and a
place where thinking outside the box is praised rather than feared. We knew from our very first meeting with Robert Galluzzo that this is where Vidar belongs.”
“The goal with the Dread Central Presents label has always been about diversity,” explained Director of Distribution Robert Galluzzo, “and to shine the spotlight on unique and completely different genre films than what’s already out there. VIDAR is the perfect, quirky, and hilarious addition to our slate and we’re excited for people to watch and laugh along.”
