“Europa Report” Hits VOD June 27th

The sci-fi thriller “Europa Report” is set to be released on VOD June 27th with a theatrical run following on August 2nd 2013. It will be released by Magnet Releasing. The film is directed by Sebastian Cordero and stars Sharlto Copley, Michael Nyqvist, Daniel Wu, Anamaria Marinca, Christian Camargo and Karolina Wydra. The film is a contemporary tale that blends alternative history with elements of documentary and standard sci-fi thriller. The story follows a mission to Jupiter's moon Europa, to investigate the possible existence of alien life within our solar system. Developed in close collaboration with NASA, JPL, SpaceX and other leaders in the scientific community, the film imagines the next step in manned space exploration and is based on recent scientific discoveries and theories.

After evidence suggests that there are vast oceans under the icy surface of Europa a private exploration company called Europa Ventures sends astronauts to confirm the findings. After near-catastrophic technical failures and tragedy plague the mission the surviving astronauts must overcome the tolls, both physical and psychological, of deep space travel and the astonishing discoveries on Europa more wondrous than imagined.
