James Cullen Bressack’s Indie hit “Hate Crime” has just released five new posters for the film as we the fans still wait for the film to receive a distribution deal. The project has become some what of an enigma in the Indie Horror community. It has gained several awards and great reviews but it is also a cursed film. Having been pulled from festival screening lists due to subject matter and brutality that is crisp, intense and in-your-face almost playing out as a real crime caught on tape.
I personally loved "Hate Crime" which left me stunned with eyes wide and jaw dropped from the shear onslaught of action driven intensity. The film has become on of Bressack’s most beloved films and yet to this very day it has not been able to procure a movie distribution deal. A few have been on the table only to be pulled – again due to the subject matter and brutality of the scenes displayed. Two things that you kind of want to have in your movies in the “Horror” community and yet what should be seen as a blessing has been a bit of a curse for this Indie flick. Below is a press release issued with the posters as well as a link to an article by Sinful Celluloid about the ordeals of trying to get this film distributed. You can read my review here!
Press Release: HATE CRIME (OFFICIAL POSTERS RELEASED)
Fans have eagerly awaited release details on HATE CRIME, although there are still none yet we do have some posters for the film!
Attached are 5 official posters for the critically acclaimed AWARD WINNING found footage home invasion film HATE CRIME. This is the second feature film by 20 year old James Cullen Bressack, his first being the amazon horror best seller MY PURE JOY which was released last year. Despite its name, Hate Crime is a labor of love from a dedicated group of people looking to make something different. Hate Crime is a violent, realistic portrayal of one of our worst nightmares, being attacked in our home. The movie has been extremely well received by over 80+ reviewers, including some of the biggest reviewers in the horror film community.
This film has fought alot of controversy due to it's extreme content, almost being banned in the UK, being pulled off the screens at festivals before even showing due to content and theatre management not willing to show the movie the festival booked, and has faced some trouble finding distribution since the shooting in CT. We actually lost a distribution deal that was on the table due to that horrible tragedy. As Sinfullcelluloid.com put it: "...the film has won several awards and has a strong following. It has over 80 great reviews and no distribution. They even had an offer hold off the table the last minute." for the full article about HATE CRIME's shocking distribution woes please visit: Sinful Celluloid
