Roger Corman first brought us his vision of the Edgar Allen Poe classic tales in the 50’s and 60’s. Now he has plans to remake those eight Poe classic tales for a new audience. The first film will begin production in 2013 and this time around will see Corman as producer instead of director. Also this time around he will have a budget of 2-2.5 million whereas the original films he brought to life had a budget of 250,000 to 350,000.
The films are “The Masque Of the Red Death”, “The Pit and The Pendulum”, House Of Usher”, “Premature Burial”, “Tales Of Terror”, “The Raven”, “The Haunted Palace” and “The Tomb Of Ligeia”. The new films will be released through Corman’s New Horizon Productions and see a short US theatrical release.
