005 - Copy
Welcome to another Psychotic Saturdays blog post. This Saturday is a day to celebrate everything that is twistedly deliscious within the boundless imaginations of one’s mind. Relationships with each other and the world around us pushed to edge of sanity and beyond. Drown in the rainbow flavored abyss of emotional limitations as you are pulled into the darkness of humanity.

1. American Translation (2012)

american translationA sexually ambiguous Frenchman tours his native countryside with his naive American lover in pursuit of the ultimate thrill. From the moment they meet, brooding Chris (Pierre Perrier) and the beautiful Aurore (Lizzie Brocherè) fall instantly and passionately in love but it’s not long before their intense connection is consumed by Chris’s dark obsession with gay men. Before long, the pair embarks on a violent and sexual journey filled with seduction and destruction of young gay hustlers. Hard-hitting, intensely sexy and wildly controversial, American Translation is a twisted Bonnie and Clyde for a new generation.

2. Endgame (2004)

end game
Set in the lurid underworld of sex for sale and back-alley crime, this fast-paced thriller travels from the stylish flats of London to the rolling hills of the English countryside. Tom is a stunning London rent boy, the perfect blackmailing bait for his sadistic pimp George. Dunston (John Benfield of Prime Suspect) is a dirty cop buried deep in drugs, violence and corruption. When Tom - knowing more than he should - flees to the city, Dunston follows in hot pursuit to permanently silence the youth. Endgame is an exciting, unpredictable cat-and-mouse game that takes its place among the best British crime dramas.

3. Feed (2006)

feedIntensely grotesque and shocking as hell, Feed is a heavyweight thrill ride through the depths of depravity. A veteran of cyberporn investigations, Australian cop Philip Jackson is no stranger to the dangerous side of sexual fetishes. He may have found his sickest case yet when he discovers a sinister side to an American website devoted to fat-admiring men and obese women called “feeders” and “gainers.” Could the man behind it all be force-feeding missing women to death? Tense, dark and deeply disturbing, director Brett Leonard (The Lawnmower Man, Virtuosity) takes the crime-thriller genre to a twisted, gut-wrenching new level.

4. In The Blood (2008)

in the blood
Evoking Brian De Palma and John Carpenter’s ‘70s classics, In the Blood is a stylishly riveting thriller filled with nubile male flesh...sure to keep you on the edge of your seat
Cassidy is a popular college jock with a secret; he’s attracted to men. Testing the waters, he makes a date with Victor, a sexy Latino hustler. Their initial foreplay instigates strange and disturbing visions of his sister Jessica covered in blood. With a serial killer roaming the campus targeting blonde-haired girls, Cassidy becomes panicked. As his visions become more frequent, Cassidy realizes that he must completely embrace his gay desires if he is to crack this gory mystery.

5. Moon Child (2005)

moon childJapanese pop stars Gackt and HYDE star in this wild hybrid of futuristic science fiction, John Woo-style gunplay, and gothic vampire horror. Moon Child follows a group of childhood friends as they advance in a futuristic criminal underworld. Sho (Gackt) feels he is doomed to walk in his idol Kei's (HYDE) footsteps as a vampire with the gift of eternal life and the curse of blood thirst. Over time, their tight friendship becomes corrupted because of their rivalry and love for the same woman. Filmmaker Takahisa Zeze brings a stylized sting to the blood draining and hyper violent proceedings.

6. Shank (2009)

shank
Worlds collide as the lives of Cal and Olivier intersect in SHANK, a gritty coming of age/rites of passage drama.
Cal, an 18 year old Scally lad and gang member has nothing in his life except drugs, sex, random acts of violence and a secret that he keeps hidden from his mates. An online hook up for sex with a stranger, temporarily satisfies but fails to dampen his unspoken desires for his best mate, Jonno. Nessa, their twisted, foul-mouthed and controlling gang leader, suspects that there is something going on between them but she can't put her finger on it. Jonno, putty in Nessa'a hands, can't express his own deep rooted and unrequited attachment to Cal. Manipulating situations that bring her closer to having her suspicions confirmed, Nessa sets out about dividing loyalties and encouraging conflict.
For no good reason an innocent student, Olivier (19), falls victim to one of her plans and is mugged on her orders by the gang. Cal steps in to restrain them and creates a distraction allowing Olivier to run free. Ignoring Nessa's screams of contempt, he chases after him and offers him a lift by way of an apology. Fearing that the fall-out from Nessa for his actions will be harsh, Cal persuades Olivier to help him out. Seizing the moral high ground and sensing that there was something more to Cal's good samaritan act, Olivier allows Cal to stay with him for a few days.
Acting on his own attraction to Cal, Olivier seduces him and in doing so, exposes Cal to new emotions and a tenderness that he has never experienced before. Very soon they are overtaken by the embrace of the first flush of love.
Nessa can't contain her rage for Cal's disloyalty to the gang and sets about hunting him down, intent on destroying him once and for all. With her gang in tow and Jonno tightly wound up, she kidnaps Olivier, taunting Cal with video messages via her mobile phone, to come and save his boyfriend.
Arriving at the abandoned factory where they are all waiting for him, Cal squares up to Nessa and Jonno. As the showdown unfolds, Nessa loses all control of events and Jonno explodes in act of sexual aggression that leaves no one unscathed and everyone traumatized. Shocked by what she has witnessed, Nessa realizes she will now never be able to break the bond between Cal and Olivier.
