CURSED is a horror-comedy series that parodies the clichés and techniques typically found in the horror genre. The story follows Isaac (Kyle McCallion), who releases a curse on himself after fiddling with a Ouija Board one drunken night. Through each episode, he and his useless housemate Ned (Omar Al-Sobky) must deal with countless paranormal hauntings whilst managing their daily mundane lives. Created by Connor Fairclough.
The story premise may not be original, but it does set up an experience for some entertaining, awkward moments, outlandish dialog and funny situations between the characters. Plus some b-level poltergeist-y moments. The production sits comfortably between a CRACKED comedy sketch and 'Stan Against Evil'. But in that Britishy slackeresque way.
'Cursed' has some strong potential packed in it. The characters, though typical, have a likeable nature. They may at first seem dry but it is clear that the humor and personalities are written so that the quality and depth unfold as the series overall plot unfolds. I find the series cheeky, amusing and worth checking out. I'm looking forward to seeing the shenanigans.
