Earlier in the year I had a chance to get a bit more sense of the film’s vibe in an interview with Nap Bishop. Then again earlier this summer I received a copy of the film’s soundtrack which highlights the films overall feel and atmosphere. I have to say that rockabilly hasn’t always been my music of choice. I have a few modern and early bands that I listen to often but I never kept up with it day to day. This soundtrack has given me a new understanding and appreciation for the genre and Nap Bishop-who contributes several tunes to the soundtrack. Overall it is a great flowing blend of traditional bluegrass fusion with contemporary rockabilly. There is a feel to the tracks that offer a haunting, melancholic pulse mixed with black humored upswing tunes that melds perfectly with the film’s location and subject matter.
