New British Anthology “The Landlady” Crowd Funding Ongoing

landladygifThe crowd funding campaign for the indie British horror anthology “The Landlady” is still ongoing over at Indiegogo. The project brings together Rory O'Donnell and Jason Read in order to take horror fans back to those classic days of Hammer Horror and Tales Of The Crypt with a short anthology series of four stories in the 'portmanteau' tradition. Fusing together the atmosphere and chilling suspense of a more romantic telling of the macabre with robust characters, gothic stories and imaginative vision, “The Landlady” is a departure from the contemporary themes of zombie satire, slice’n’dice killer thrillers.

Rory O'Donnell and Jason Read are both seasoned filmmakers. Rory's last short film 'AutoDrive', funded through IndieGoGo, has played from Cannes to California, and he works on his projects between running the film training courses for the Raindance Film Festival. Jason has been a director on commercial and music videos for the last ten years and is also a professional musician/composer.

In “The Landlady” anthology tenants rent out a room with only four simple rules that they must abide by. This is a horror anthology so obviously the renters break some rules and pay dearly for it. It does sound like a very interesting project and with filming beginning now at the end of August and finishing in time for Halloween it will be cool to see how this little project turns out. I will be looking out for “The Landlady”, will you?
