John Carpenter’s “Halloween” has lived a very iconic life spanning a fan based that commands well over 30 years and several generations. Michael Myers is one of the most noticeable characters in pop culture, I would venture to say more people recognize his image than Jesus Christ or The Pope. Mainly because you don’t have to be Christian to love horror. It like Michael Myers is universal. Every culture has a boogeyman. Not every culture has a savior. Anyway now there are remakes and reprints of the source material brought to life by the horror legend John Carpenter and among this latest wave of adoration for the ultimate representation of evil there is a fan film coming to celebrate one film companies love and passion- Horror and specifically Michael Myers inducing horror. A fan film is the ultimate way a fan and young film talent can show their love for this dark and pleasurable genre we all call home sweet hell. It is a totally self funded non-profit joint given to the world by a devoted fan and director alike. Now one such fan has set out to make that statement clear in his fan film “Halloween: The Mask Of Michael Myers”. Ryan Stacy’s first film was ambitious and deep in the slasher subgenre that has been inherited to us in part by Michael Myers. This will be a tribute of sorts.
