Vidar the Vampire is a Norwegian ultra low budget horror-comedy produced by UFOh! The film is set to premiere at The Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund on August 23rd, 2017 and will screen at both Fantasy Filmfest, Germany and FilmQuest, USA in September, 2017.
The film is self-financed with a budet totalling approximately USD 60.000,-.
The making of Vidar the Vampire has been an entirely organic process from beginning to end, both by choice and necessity. We started writing the script in 2012, shot and edited a pilot in 2013, went back to the drawing board and rewrote the script over and over from 2013 to 2015. The rest of the film was shot on and off from 2015 through 2016, while continuously making changes in the script based on the footage acquired. This on-and-off process of filmmaking was necessary due to seasonal based scenes and the fact that our core crew members were reliant on side jobs to be able to support themselves.
Vidar the Vampire follows typical genre conventions but with an energetic twist and innovation.
Synopsis:
Vidar Haarr is a 33 year old, sexually frustrated bachelor farmer who leads a Christian, monotonous and strenuous working life on his mother's farmstead in the Western outskirts of Norway. In a desperate attempt to break free from routine, Vidar prays to a higher power to grant him a life without boundaries. Unfortunately, his prayers are heard and Vidar wakes up one evening as the Prince of Darkness in sin city, Stavanger.

Terror Films is released indie thriller DEL PLAYAacross multiple digital platforms in North America on Friday, July 21st.
The film’s story follows Matthew (Alan Ayala), who is routinely abused by his stepfather. He has a crush on Claire (Devon Barnes), during high school. His love for Claire rides a fine line between persistence and obsession. And when, Matthew is jumped by her boyfriend, things turn violent. Five years go by and Claire discovers that her high school stalker has returned for her.
The film has been surrounded by controversy from the moment the filmmakers released a trailer on YouTube in 2015. There were claims made by several people, who saw the trailer, that the movie was based on college student Elliot Rodger. In 2014, Rodger killed six other students and wounded 14 others, in Isla Vista. Then, he killed himself. The controversy became so heated that a petition was created on Change.org by a former UCSB student, garnering approximately 30,000 signatures. The petition was a protest of the film. Meanwhile, major publications such as Variety and The Huffington Post reported on the controversy.
Writer/Director Shaun Hart admits that, while there may be similarities to the actual events that took place in 2013, this story is not based specifically on that incident. “I was completely blindsided by the Elliot Rodger story – another devastating tragedy in a long lineage of mass shootings,” Hart says. “The only difference for me was that I lived on that street where Elliot’s rampage ultimately ended. ”
When asked about his motivations regarding making the film, Hart said: “storytelling is powerful. Being a filmmaker, I began to put the question – why does this keep happening year after year? - into a story because I believe that’s a way that we can learn. We have to come to grips with the fact that – as a society – something is changing. There is a very real darkness descending on our country that is more frightening than any imaginary monster we can manufacture in a horror film. That’s what this film is about.”
As part of his effort to be socially responsible, Hart has decided that a portion of the film’s profits will go to Arts for Humanity!Arts for Humanity! isa non-profitbased in Santa Barbara, California. Founded in 1997, this group empowers low income at-risk youth, people with disabilities and the elderly through participatory performing and visual arts programs. They bring opportunities in the creative arts directly to marginalized community members through art programs that are provided to social service agencies through Santa Barbara County.

Today filmmaker Joston “El Rey” Theney and his production / distribution company #SinningWorks unveiled new, disturbing key art for the highly anticipated second installment of their 80’s throwback slasher series titled Axeman 2: Overkill. This installment’s notable cast include Farrah Abraham (MTV’s Teen Mom OG), Rachel Reilly (CBS’ Big Brother), Angelica Bridges (Baywatch, The Bold and The Beautiful) and Bryan Clark (WWE’s Adam Bomb, WCW’s Wrath). Along with the gory new poster, Theney revealed a home video release date for the unrated sequel as Tuesday, October 17th – just in time for every horror fan’s favorite holiday!
"I think this poster more accurately conveys the tone of the film,” El Rey responded when asked why it changed so drastically. “While the previous artwork was cool, it felt a little wooden and dry. This film is dark and sick. It’s crude and vulgar, it’s over the top and bloody. And I feel this new poster does a better job of setting up what the audience is in for.”
This upcoming film marks the return of the Axeman at Cutter’s Creek since the 2014 release of the original. When asked what’s different about this installment, the filmmaker laughed, “it lives up to its name. Overkill has two different definitions – one means too much of something, the other means ‘the amount by which destruction or the capacity for destruction exceeds what is necessary.’ We are definitely the second one!”
Axeman 2: Overkill is unrated and releases on VOD and DVD/Blu-ray October 17th worldwide. Information on rental/purchase locations is forthcoming. Stay up to date by following the film on Facebook at @AxemanAtCuttersCreek.
