With all the recent rumblings about the internet phenom creature known as Slender Man, one has to wonder when the flood of films looking to explore this entity would appear. Luckily, “Flay” offers us a slender man-esque antagonist. The film is written by Matthew Daley and stars Elle LaMont, A. Michael Baldwin, Dalton Gray, Johnny Walter, Aaron Spivey-Sorrells, Peggy Schott, Violett Beane, Kaylee King, Noe de la Garza. “Flay” is in post-production for the 2015 year.
Recovering addict Patricia Crane inadvertently unleashes a centuries old curse and empowers Flay, a faceless killer who drags his victims to the netherworld, brutally flays them and traps their souls. Flay draws off of the Japanese phantom called The Noppera-bō, they are known primarily for frightening humans, but are usually otherwise harmless. They appear at first as ordinary human beings, sometimes impersonating someone familiar to the victim, before causing their features to disappear, leaving a blank, smooth sheet of skin where their face should be. A very real phantom that sounds a lot like The Slender Man, which makes the Noppera-bo the perfect choice for such a new nightmare man!
