Set Sail With The Houseboat On Terror Lake
Nashville, TN - July 8, 2013 - Prussian Chess Pictures has announced the production of their debut feature length film “Houseboat On Terror Lake”, set to start shooting later this year.
The horror/comedy Houseboat On Terror Lake finds six college friends stealing a houseboat as a prank, only to have their night of debauchery turn into a gruesome bloodbath.
The picture will be co-directed by Jon C. Forisha and Andrew Ford. Ford recently directed the highly acclaimed short film “Arriving At Night” featuring legendary actor Tom Atkins (Night Of The Creeps, Halloween 3). Forisha most recently directed the film ‘Employment” which was produced by a successful crowd funding campaign via Kickstarter.
Houseboat On Terror Lake took an unconventional course in its development. The movie’s screenplay credits five writers including, Jon C. Forisha, Andrew Ford, Josh Ickes, Chip Wilder, and Eli Osman. Forisha said of the writing process “Eli and I came up with the title Houseboat On Terror Lake while working on a film with Andrew. What followed were a few weeks of brainstorming with Andrew, Josh, and Chip, culminating in an intense two-day writing extravaganza. We hooked a laptop up to a TV and put our extensive slasher film knowledge to good use.” The collection of filmmakers share credits on multiple film and television series including Stoker, Anyone’s Ghost, Deadline, The Lashman, and Duck Dynasty.
The announcement coincides with the launch of a sneak peek video and crowd funding campaign via Kickstarter.com. The microbudget slasher film seeks $25,000 to finalize production costs. Pledges range from the low price of one dollar to $10,000. The filmmakers are offering rewards for investors including Blu-Rays, DVDs, posters, soundtracks, and t-shirts, as well as tickets to the movie premiere.
Houseboat On Terror Lake will shoot in Tennessee with principal photography set to begin in August of 2013. The film will debut on the film festival circuit in 2014.
