My Top 10 Moments From Season 7 Of 'Dexter'

Season 7 was one of the best of the series (yet?) FINGERS CROSSED BITCHES!!!! There were so many moments were the normal well oiled machine of structure and order in the lives of the cast were up heaved in epic ways. Some ending in fatal finality. I have listed here my top 10 moments from this season of the show.

10. WTF DEX! – In the season opener Deb deals with discovering Dex at a crime scene committing the crime! Thinking on his feet Dexter convinces her it was a spontaneous moment in judgment for survival. Even with all her bat sensors going off in mega watts Deb decides to protect her brother by helping cover up the crime scene. Epic moment for her character because up until now everything was cut-n-dry in the world. Right was right and wrong was wrong. This leads to her discovering her brother’s true nature and his belief in his dark passenger which –hey that is is fucking epic- but would not have happened had not she walked into that church as Dexter was killing Travis Marshall and her need to tie up loose ends in her effort to reconcile the events leading up to this momentous discovery!

9. Lilith lives still in the shadows of men! Dexter fall’s in love with young Hannah McKay against every logical intention he exacts to the contrary. His desire to carry out his code and end the world of Hannah McKay has one momentous kink in it. He falls in love and under her dark seductive spell much like men of the mythical world fell for Lilith in those great and ancient days of Demons. Not a mask of love has was his “learn to” reasons for marrying Rita. This was a deep dark sexual in-depth love with no secrets and unbridled passion.

8. A thorn no more! Dexter had on ballsy antagonist in Louis. A guy whose own psychosis probably went darker than his character did. He taunted Dexter and went for him with arrogant pride which became his downfall. But the big moment here lies in the fact that will on one of his vengeful tangents against Dexter Louis crosses paths with an even more deadly rival of Dex’s, The Koshka Brotherhood and is killed on Dexter’s boat. This event leaves Dexter a little vulnerable if the show returns and say his boat is confiscated by Miami Metro!

7. A snake by any other name! Quinn falls for a stripper who eventually plays him in the end. However along the way he gives up his new honest leaf on life that was inspired by his relationship with Deb and goes rogue again. He becomes a pawn for the Koshka Brotherhood for money and the love of a stripper. Not a big earth shattering moment but it does leave an open story point because remember he used to have it hard core for Dex’s ass on a stake. Not to mention it makes him vulnerable for kill off!

6. A fucked up thing called Love! Deb tells Dexter that she is in love with him after a heated argument which erupts after she finds out about his love affair with Hannah! These are they days of our lives indeed. This is a big fucking deal because this shows more degradation in the walls of stability that is Debra Morgan’s world. It was a scene I was anticipating in the season and still feel it is open for more exploration no matter how much it makes my skin crawl!

5. Goodbye cruel world! Batista decides to retire from law enforcement and go into the burger business. Big deal because one he always held Dex and Deb’s back in his safe and loyal hands but with the season finale the way it was he is now set to be their biggest advisory!

4. In the name of Love! Dexter decides to break his rock solid code. Instead of sticking to something that has lead him to safety for so many years Dex forgoes his code as a killer in order to keep Hannah McKay safe. He kills her spiteful and fucked up father in the name of love. This is crucial because now that he has found emotional reasons to cross the boundary what will hold him together as life goes on!

3. Some plans backfire! Hannah decides to set up a fool proof plan that will end the rivalry she has with sister Deb. She spikes her water with anxiety medication so Debra will die from overdose. Unfortunately it was a flawed plan. Not only did Debra not die but in Hannah’s hast she left evidence behind that implicated her in a way that only a cunning Dexter Morgan would see as truth.

2. Farewell my love! Dexter chooses Debra over Hannah. In order to protect his sister from his lover Dexter hands over incriminating evidence that will see Hannah behind bars for the murder of a crime writer. This sets things up for Dex as he tries to hold on to Hannah behind bars and protect his sis only to have more problems set to arise from the decision.

1. Death of Ideals! In an epic and intense season finale all moral and ethical roads collide in a cargo container on New Year’s Eve. Deb chooses her brother over her beliefs and on code that right is definitive. She kills the main person who could see Dexter behind bars-Lieutenant LaGuerta. This ends Debs moral code of law and puts her closer to her brothers path in life – maybe giving rise to her own dark passenger! It is a final and epic momentous event in the series that opens things wide for an intense final season next year!
