“The Dark Cinema” released the first image of Bill Oberst Jr. who stars in the dark horror/sci-fi anthology series. The television show will feature original indie short films from around the world with Bill Oberst Jr. as host. It is about fucking time that these talented visionaries from around the world got proper recognition and exposure. Not all have the luck of their story getting spun into feature films nor do a lot of them ever get recognized. So this is a great concept that should give independent filmmakers a chance to be seen by some horror fans that normally wouldn’t venture far from Hollywood big budget projects. I know because until 4 years ago I moved on past the short films and Indie stuff without giving it a glance. I was a fool because I prefer the Indie stuff way more than the over produced Hollywood stuff. It just gives a more organic and raw horror experience. “The Dark Cinema” pilot episode, which centers around the theme “Evil Toys” boasts award-winning shorts from the United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal and the United States is due sometime early next year.
