Daniel Stamm’s new horror/ thriller “The Darkness” is currently at the AFM and has shown the first artwork for the flick. Daniel Stamm who’s last horror “The Last Exorcism” kept with a very surreal and ominous tone will surely be keeping with the style that has made him so well known in this dark film that reads in a very sinister fashion. The plot is reminiscent of some other dark stories about babysitting that have came out in the past few years but the way this synopsis reads there could be some questionable deception and twist teases through the story playing on the audience ability to figure out the truth of the plot. I already have a suspicion based on the twisted images the plot forms in my dark mind. A strange and yet alluring gentlemen and a young naïve student form a casual relationship that she hopes to spark into something more. She agrees to babysit in a scary sterile home for the man’s daughters. I feel it will be “the house possessed, are the daughters merely ghosts, or is there something more sinister at play?”. That is just my vibe from the film but it reads very interestingly. Check out the synopsis for yourselves…
Sally, a young American student, becomes obsessed with her charismatic professor, Charles. He convinces Sally to spend the summer babysitting his two young children at his country estate. When Charles goes on a business trip Sally finds herself alone in the remote and imposing mansion. She suspects that the children know something about the house that they are not telling her, or perhaps it’s the house itself that is keeping secrets.
